Sell Your WoW's Its All Over! MAF's Catacombs Impressions

No, it's not. When I'm chatting, I treat it JUST LIKE IRC -- I say the sort of shit Drinky Crow would, not what I'd consider my character to say were I inclined to give it a thought, because I DON'T EQUATE MYSELF WITH MY CHARACTER. You damn nerds. I just CHAT, like I do on IRC, and I independently run my character around getting shit and scoring numbers.

Apparently some of you can't separate the two.

I see the trolls ignored the perfectly clear explanation in my previous post ;P

The avatar represents time put into the game, not the player. If you feel it represents the player you are limiting yourself in the most stupid way possible.

That is really all there is to these types of games, but you choose to drop $15 a month to do it as a pretty little girl.

signet is missing the point.

When I rolled my buxom undead warlock with no eyes, I didn't do it for the sake of representing Brandon F in the WoW universe, I did it for the sake of attracting teenage boys into my web of desire, lust, and conceit. Strangely enough, I'm not even catholic!

I see signet, you're not trying to understand why (Which I now formally believe you incapable of doing) but rather to score 'hits' off the administration here, you go girl! (You won't 'win' BTW, there is no such thing) :P

In all seriousness. I could maybe see if you named yourself MAF and played a female character. At least you're still representing a part of what you are. I mean you go out of your way to come up with a female name.

I mean if it was just all about the staring at the ass and the tities. Why bother with a female name?

Not sure if that is any better.

Tabris: Actually all of my character names are created with DAoC's random name generator which tends to generate based on gender. I just generate until I hit a name that hasnt been used on the server. Quit assuming things :p

...but why not just use MAF? You don't care about role-playing, you just want to watch a female ass wiggle around as you play.

The only real reason I see here is to dupe other players out of free stuff and too look a polygon ass & tities. Don't need to drop a month membership fee for that, just boot up IRC and stuff the next for some low rent 3d render porn.

I am suggesting that these are not reasons but excuses to let the little girl inside out to play every now and then.

Because it has no meaning outside of this forum. By using MAF that would say I identify with this avatar, but I really dont. MAF is a creation of this forum. I simply use the name and avatar to identify to THIS forum. Im very unlike MAF in person. All online avatars/indentities are not me. The instant they start becoming so is the day I need to quit the internet.

I guess so.

I dunno, I still think it's weird :p The only time I could see a logical reasoning for it is if there were stat differences. Like in Final Fantasy XI and the mithra race.

Well ive explained my reasoning behind the way I play a GAME several times over in this thread. If that still disturbs you in any way, seek help.

So I was right then, cheap shots it is.

You know what, I personally believe that it is narrow-minded people such as yourself that have "sexual identity crisis" issues, that you feel the need to transfer onto others.

It is perfectly possible to be 100% heterosexually male and have a female avatar for gaming purposes, and doing so without fear of expressing a "little girl inside" is a greater sign of security in ones own sexuality than those who feel the need to question it and take cheap shots.

Ahhh, I get it, did I offer you a blow-job in SWG for credits and run away with your money leaving you un-cybered? - Sorry about that, lesson learned and all... :D

Id lose it in windowed mode when switching between things, but id find it with a little mouse movement.

Also M will remove the mouse and turn out mouselook, if thats your problem.

Tabris...IT'S JUST A GAME. YOU AREN'T *REALLY* SHION UZUKI OR FEI FONG WONG SAVING THE UNIVERSE FROM THE CURSE OF THE CHU-CHU BEASTS WHEN YOU PLAY A XENO RPG.

I just bought this game last night.

I went through the 4 disc, hour long, marathon install.

Setup an account and billing info through Blizzard's website.

Then I go to log into the game for the first time, I click the 'play WOW' button, and it loads up to a 'terms of use' screen, only without any mouse cursor, so I can't click 'agree' to continue on to actually play the game.

Frustrated, I tried to post in Blizzard's tech forum...but for some reason they fail to recognize my account for their forums so they restrict me from posting for help...despite the fact that their actual site shows that my account is active and open.

SO I sent them an email...but I want to play the game now. Did anyone else have this problem...and how do I correct it?

Well, way to ruin it for me :p

Next you'll tell me I'm not actually Anakin Skywalker. Jeez. :)

Uh... did you even read the thread before posting?

This has got me tempted to get an MMORPG again, NooOooOo, can't afford the years these games suck away...

Me, I vary from game to game. I play whatever I think will look the best. Placing frail looking girls in ridiculously heavy armor classes/jobs has always been a thing of mine though, cracks me up. FFXI was esp. a ball in that regard.

I think you're looking way too deeply into it, and I also believe if roleplaying is your arguement against, well, then I don't even know how to respond to that. Cuz I've wasted far too much time on this shit from UO, DAoC, FFXI and now WoW and I still think roleplaying and getting into character is about the lowest form of bottom feeder nerd you can go.

Powergamers forever! *insert headbanging smiley substitute here*

If you don't powergame, the time they take can be kinda nice. FFXI saved me a lot of money ignoring others games, heh.

Playing female characters rock. I'd rather look at polygon tits and ass for my 1234234234 hours of gaming.

Sait: Ive been around longer than any of us, aside from Jim C. It allows me some benefits.

I drove to an E3 with Jim and Heather beforeb and one of my best friends started this site. Does that mean I'm entitled to perks too?

=P

Actually I'm more amused than anything. Your title should be "Alpha Male."

^_~

male or female, looking at the same polygonal ass for hours on end isn't going to be very interesting so I don't really understand that reasoning. I would sooncer accept the reason, "because I can" than the tits and ass thing.

I generally play male characters just cuz I think I can make a neater looking character. I don't like either the big busty females nor the big muscled guys. I generally prefer to make a small and cloaked thing with menancing eyes that unleases death. And annoyingly, games tend to attempt to greatly accentuate the female form and so to get more of an 'unkown' body type I have to go with male.

I just thing a guy from hell wrapped in a cloak and leaning on a staff looks cooler than a chick in a metal thong. But thats all there is to my reasoning. Though I've found in the few mmorpg's I've tried there hasn't been enough choice to really make a difference either way. I was pretty dissappointed in the look of my undead warlock during WoW beta. He just looked like a gimp.

Sait: Well I meant before GEO, are you a pre-GEO? That would be cool. Not many of us old-schoolers left. I was at E399 if you were there.

And getting perks requires people know you've been around a while I think. ;)

I started going to E3's with GA back in uhhh 96, or 97 (can't remember exactly) and I was at the 99 E3. Didn't go down the dark path of forums until PSO came out. Though I heard all about GEO. heh

This game actually looks pretty damn cool now. How much is it per month?

That looks really nice.

Same here. I catch flak for that sometimes and get labeled a pervert, but hey, if you'd rather look at a GUY'S ASS, that's all you. :lol

more like a sad pervert, if your going to ogle at girls look at a real one.

I'm not ogling girls. I don't get a new game because of teh b00bs (Rumble Roses, aside, I guess) But when you're playing a game that takes a LONG time, like a MMORPG, yeah, I'd rather be staring at a female than a male, even if it's a video game character. Again, that's just me. If you're happy with man ass, that's okay I guess. It all really boils down to the character designs and genre, too. If the female character looks cooler to me in an action, I'm going to choose her. Likewise for the male character. Viewtiful Joe 2 is a good example of this...Joe is so much cooler. :)

12.95 on a monthly thing, if you pay in larger monthly chunks its cheaper. Like WoW, but initially cheaper ;)

Hmm. I'm tempted...after I'm done with finals next week, I'm going to actually have free time again, so I may look into it. :)

I see they have a free 14 day trial at Fileplanet too.

Thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately it doesn't apply to the Catacombs expansion it seems, but it will be interesting to muck around in another MMO for a brief period, get an idea of what this does bring to the table. I'll download it this weekend.

I ditched my valewalker and druid. Sorta tired of hibernia, about 7 months of adventuring off and on was good for that realm. So I started a Valkyn in the Savage class in Midgard as my non-group-with friends character. Her hand to hand blade weapons rock, and the combo-ing of martial arts with realm abilities that for very small instants boosts various elements of the characters natural skills make for interesting combat.

Here's my character in SPIDER MINE USA! It was hard to see enemies in here, even with their flags on. Sorta dark too. Apologiezzzzz
