After thinking long and hard about it I've decided to sell off my Gamecube and games to fund the purchase of my 360. Im pretty sure Im going the ebay route how much do you guys think I will get? This is what I have:

Platinum Gamecube w/component out
Gameboy Player
2 Wavebirds
Platinum Controller
Nintendo Component Cable

Games
Mario Kart DD
Zelda Collection
Soul Calibur 2
Def Jam Vendetta
Metal Gear Solid TTS
Timesplitters 2
Sonic Mega collection
Beyond Good & Evil
Mega Man collection
fifa 2004
Ncaa football 2003
Allstar baseball 2004
Super Monkey Ball
Animal Crossing

two Memory cards ( the black ones)256?

Well... if Microsoft says that the following games are backwards compatible on X-Box 360

Ninja Gaiden
Burnout 3
NHL Hitz Pro
James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing

I will be getting rid of my X-Box and controller, 3 extra controllers and DVD remote...

I wouldn't want to waste time on eBay... I will just bring it to Gamestop or EB...

Gamestop said that the buy the system for $60 and the controllers are $7

Or I just might give everything to my buddy

You're probably not going to get a whole lot for any of the current-gen systems (XBox/PS2/GC) used unless you have some really rare software or hardware accessorie.

Gamestop and EB only give about $25 for a gamecube, so he could most likely do better on ebay.

At this point Im just trying to knock the price of the 360 down....I put 100 down on it so another 150...would have me down to about 150 due at the time of purchase..I put the money down on it right after e3 shortly after that I bought a house and I move into it in November so my funds are going to be very tight.

I sold my GC, two Wavebirds, Mario Party 5 and Mario Kart: DD about a month ago to someone on craigslist for $80.

Honestly, is it really worth it to sell all the games? I can understand the console and accessories, but with the Revolution coming you can still play your GC games or sell them later (and some may increase in value, like the Zelda collection)

Oh yeah.......I've become much less of a gamer as of late mostly playing sports games and quick puzzle games due to work and stress. I hardly ever play my Gamecube if ever and I'll be getting the 360 for a handful of games ( mostly Madden, WE, fifa) and have decided that the 360 will be my only next gen console.

how much do you want for the platinum gcn w/ component out? i'm assuming it's in great shape. hell, i'd even be willing to throw you some cash for it and send you my platinum cube that does not have component out, which you could do whatever you want with...

edit: i'll take the component cable as well. pm me...

What's in the Zelda collection again?

I would be interested in the Zelda collection if it's not just the TOOT remake and also the MGS:TTS.
If those are available pm me and lets see if we can work something out.

I wish I could sell mine but Nintendo has me by the ballz with Fire Emblem and Zelda still on the horizon. I might import Naruto Gekitou Taisen 4 depending on the scores.

EDIT: Component cable? How much?

how much is that going for now anyways? i have one of those, albeit with some scratches.

It was awhile ago so I don't know how it's changed up or down but my friend traded in his Zelda collection at our local Rhino gamestore and he was floored to find out they gave him 45 bucks in credit for it.

It includes the full versions of:

• The Legend of Zelda
• The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
• The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
• Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Plus bonus content:

• The Legend of Zelda: Retrospective (Short video comprised of footage from each installment)
• The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Playable Demo
• The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Trailer

I believe that's it...

Just hang on to it all for 20 years and then sell - you'll make a fortune. Gamecube is worthless right now so it's not going to contribute much to sell it for a 360 anyway.

Unfortunately, game consoles and software do not appreciate in value unless it's something rare like VALKYRIE PROFILE OMFG I NEEEED IT

:*(

Thanks Scott. You are always there for me. :D

Did they ever re-release Majoras Mask? I have it for the N64 but have never gotten around to it and my N64 is not set-up right now.

Truffle is right about selling the Component Cable seperately. The Cube system itself will probably sell the same whether you include the cable or not.

The Nintendo Store website (the only place to get them?) won't have stock of component cables until Late January 2006. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there still looking for one.

Bit of an update ( for all those who are on the fence about selling stuff on ebay) I made $324.00 selling my Gamecube + games and accessories. I took your advice and sold the Component cable seperatly as well as the Gameboy player , Mario Kart , Beyond Good n Evil, and Zelda Collectors Edition. I sold the cube plus the two wave birds and the remaining ten games as a package.

You mean like those used NES right?

I never ever sell consoles even if the the next system is backward compatible.

I learned my lesson with the Dreamcast won't happen again.

Wow. I have like triple that amount of games for it with all the assesories. I had no idea they could go for that high. I might think about doing that :)

that's damn good. I have almost the same setup as you (less games, no cable) and I've decided to sell it as well. I should have known to maximize the value through ebay.

Yeah, I have never sold off any of my consoles. The closest would be when I traded off my extra GBA for an SP. That's about it.

You made some good money though Ryck. $324 is not bad at all.

This thread has inspired me!

I have two GCs, XBOXs (one modded) and 2 PS2s (keeping the fat one for HDL).

Toss in some games.

1/2 a grand ($$) easy. Use it to get a 360.

Thanks Ryck!

me too, throw out the shit while its still worth something.

Revolution will play Gamecube stuff, so I can get rid of that (I can wait a few months to play zelda if necessary). Modded with a switch so good for ebay

Still have a launch Japanese PS2 that can fuck off too, and a fat UK one that I've never bloody played. games will stay and wait for PS3. although Ico and Rez might be worth selling on.

That should at least pay for an Xbox 360 game or two.
