• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

September is going to be a bloodbath.

Control Resonant is gonna be a massive flop. Remedy's games just don't sell. I wouldn't be surprised if this next flop leads to layoffs or them getting bought out.
Yeah, I don't see it selling well in general but in such close proximity to other titles? No chance.

This may be an unpopular opinion but Control wasn't very good. It's got quite a vibe and atmosphere, but that's really it. Max Payne 1 and 2 are great but Remedy is extremely overrated.

Also the character models in Resonant looks like shit. The main character looks like a completely different person then the art and it's like they took the face of a 250lb person and put it on a 175lb person.

Almost every game shown at State of Play that's coming out this year is set to release in September. Some even on a same day. I get that they all want to move away from GTA 6, but that was a bit over the top.

- 03 Sep The Blood of Dawnwalker (D1)

@ thx Victhemic for the list.
Yep. 9 day one for me titles. Would be 10 if PB ends up being legit.

Idk how the fuck I'm supposed to play all this.

I'm similarly worried about Onimusha.

Onimusha will be buried 6ft under again as a franchise if Capcom doesn't see the right sales number.

So insanely bold (or brave and dumb) of them to release Onimusha on that date.
Control and Oni should slide into August. Ezpz.

Have a hunch this will be the biggest sleeper hit. Wukong level hit.

I have my eyes on this game but i'm not sold yet.

It could be really awesome and standout or just be another Wuchang; Khazan whatever.

I wonder if Phantom Blade will do better than Beast of Reincarnation. It's a wild couple months. Are they hoping for good release word of mouth cause that's a lot of money. I don't even want to buy all those at $70 a pop. A few I'm going to wait for a sale.

I'll play Blood of Dawnwalker, Warhammer and Control. The rest you'd have to pay me to play. I don't want them.

Phantom Blade has been delayed to October.

Halloween the Game? LOL

Wolverine is more Sony slop

WTF is Trials in the Sky

Warhammer only interesting for RTS players

Dune is a boring MMO thats been out for ages on PC

SH looks great
Control meh another Remedy flop incoming bet my avatar on it for a year
Onimusha will be a sales flop for Capcom, but will review well around 8ish

DYNASTY WARRIORS LOL

Rayman remade with an uglier artstyle

AC8 looks great but only appeals to Flight Combat fans

Star Wars Galactic Racer could be very fun, but I doubt it will sell gangbusters.

COD MW4 will be a sales giant obscuring anything else on this list.

Not sure it will be a bloodbath at all.

Dawn of War IV, Control, Rayman & SW: Galactic Racer are sure pick for me and there is other games too not releasing in September.

The full second half of this year is PACKED as f and I love it.

I'm surprised no-one has decided to be counter-programming for people who don't really care about GTA.

So far I'm in for...

- 17 Sep: Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
- 24 Sep: Control Resonant
- 02 Oct: Ace Combat 8
- 06 Oct: STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™

I'm not interested in GTA 6, so I should have plenty of time for these.

Hopefully Nintendo goes easy in the Fall, but I'm guessing they'll have one or two titles I'll be interested in.

New EA Sporta FC (FIFA) is also expected late september

Yep, I thought the same thing after the show...like why cluster September like that?

I'm actually hoping some of these games delay themselves into November, or if they're THAT afraid of GTA6...just delay to late January.

Some of these games even if they're good are gonna hurt their chances, especially if they have less hype up to launch.

Should work out fine for me, but Onimusha will lose out. But yeah, no reason for everything to release in Sep/Oct.

For some games it will be. Remedy is already struggling and is barely hanging on. Releasing Control this September would be practically suicide for them.

Onimusha has always sold rather poorly, so it's actually a bit of a surprise that there's a new installment at all. I am happy that there is, but the timing is again really bad.

"The Blood of Dawnwalker" seems to be the game generating the most buzz out of those 3. But it's a new studio and a new IP. Who knows how good it will really turn out to be. And whether it just gets lost in the masses.
