Lolz. NXT is now using the same sound machine that is used on Smackdown. In a building of a few hundred. At least SD LOOKS like it has more than that. It was as bad as TNA's horrible crowd sweetening that they literally just hit a stop and play button on. There were a few moments every bit as bad as when TNA does it.

On the plus side, RYBACK got mad because one of the jobbers ripped his singlet, so he hit the most vicious powerbomb this side of 1993 Vader on the poor guy. It was awesome. As was Hero vs Steamboat Jr. Building for the past month or so, playing off their first match, JR being at the best he's been in a few years. Really enjoyed it. One of the best TV matches I've seen in quite some time. Pretty basic, but fast paced and a great condensed Hero formula match. After the commercial break, they came back to Hero having Richie in between the ropes, hooked in a cravat, and dragging his throat across the top rope. I don't think I've ever seen that before. And his cravat face lock thing looked particularly hurty.

Things like this make me actually get up off my ass to watch. Sounds tasty.

If I remember rightly, broadcasts on U-Stream are viewable pretty much as soon as their finished - even if people can't watch live, watching it on demand a few hours later is a whole lot better than the normal wait for New Japan shows in the west.

*edit, also, anyone remotely interested in New Japan or puroresu in general should be buying this PPV, whether they can watch live or not. The fact is, New Japan and nearly every other puroresu promotion don't see much of a market for their product in the west, to the extent that they don't even ship their DVDs and merchandise outside of Japan! I would love for this to be successful for New Japan and change all that.

their best poster imo:

rumble91-1

I like how 2001 used a spiritual successor to that Rumble Poster, fortunately everyone doesn't look quite so jolly in the newer one. Or maybe it's just that Hogan's grin is burying everyone else's grimacing.

I need to check it out later. Still haven't watch KoT =(

Just an FYI, the Indie Spotlight in the October OP spoils the winner of King of Trios & the Young Lions Cup.....kind of have to to plug the main events for the month's Chikara shows.

I think I'm going to instate a rule that all DVD/MP4 releases must be spoiler tagged for two weeks after they ship or are made available for download. That's reasonable enough for anyone who wants to watch them.

I didn't know that Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero was such a lover of hip-hop. I just stumbled upon his twitter. He gets all the cool points.

I believe it was an IWA-MS show where he talks about hip hop for the entire match instead of calling it since the match was awful

Only one thing will make me truly happy with the A&8 storyline.

At BFG the main man (Hogan) behind A&8 reveals himself to Aries and he says:

"It's me Austin... It's me Austin. It was me all along!"

Looks like WWE will no longer be uploading Superstars and Smackdown to Youtube. They are only uploading highlight clips of both shows now probably due to their deal with Hulu.

WWE Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Triple H recently spoke with the Miami Herald about the NXT tapings at Full Sail University in Florida. Here are some highlights of what Triple H said about:

Why They Chose Full Sail for NXT: “We did some events here. We turned them into TV. We got the idea to do the show here. The show took off. We didn’t want to have no value for tickets, so we started charging a little for tickets. Then it was like, ‘You know what. Let’s take that money and give it back to the school. Let’s make a scholarship fund and give it to the students.’”

“We have our developmental as it exists now in Tampa, and the television experience there was very small. It just aired in Central Florida. I wanted to bring it into that facility [Full Sail Live] with the ability for [WWE NXT superstars and divas] to learn how to do WWE television — even if it’s on a smaller level but on the same professional platform. When I saw this facility, my visionary, Spidey senses went off, and I said, ‘This is exactly what I was looking for.’ We started to explore it further and brought some execs in to look at it and started to think about it some more and started to hash out this idea about potentially putting on a show here, and we did. We put on a show.”

“Then I started to think, I can take NXT off the road and turn that into developmental because that show wasn’t doing anything, but it was sold internationally. It can open up some time for us on the road to shoot a different show; same point and time I can shoot a really good quality show out of here and take these kids, instead of then learning out of a two-camera warehouse shoot that went no where, I can teach them on a four or five or six camera shoot with real live TV production on a smaller but same platform WWE does everywhere.”

Working With FSU Students: “We have our exec team coming down here and lecturing their students quarterly. Our marketing people come down to talk about marketing. Our digital people come down and discuss digital strategies and social media initiatives. We give them real world corporate vision and experience they can’t get anywhere else. It’s a really great working opportunity, and this place is like a huge think tank for WWE in a way. So it’s a win-win for everybody.”

NXT Possibly Airing In The US: “Certainly. When I say we’re scratching the surface, there’s a lot of things potentially. Could we do other shows here? ‘Yeah, they have studio facilities all over this campus. They’ve got green screen facilities. Right now we’re working with them at Full Sail Live, producing a show out of here that goes internationally — hopefully soon domestically; that’s a spoiler — but there are so many other things that we can very easily begin to do out of Full Sail that synergistically works for us and works for them.”

I'm actually becoming quite impressed with Triple H's work in WWE. He seems to have a pretty good business sense and a good feeling on what works and doesn't work.

it has been like that for a few months now. highlight clips go up first, and then the whole show comes up late.

Just when i though they were turning the divas divison around Raquel Diaz(eddie's daughter) was released. With Beth, sofia and Maxine leaving what is going on. I worry for Sara Now.

They stopped doing clips for Superstars along time ago and even when they did them it was 1 or 2 clips now they uploaded a highlight clip for every match on Superstars which is very odd. Superstars usually gets uploaded on Thursdays and is on time for the most part. They will probably stop uploading their full shows to support Hulu. They stopped every upload of RAW this week on Youtube also. Ugh they should have chosen Netflix to upload their shows too they have no commercials

A bunch of mediocre wrestlers get released and you worry about the division? Outside of Beth, Maxine and Raquel were both awful. It's not like they just fired Nattie or Naomi or even AJ.

Wasn't there some mention of Sara being brought in to help train the Divas, rather than be an on-screen talent?

Also, apparently Skyler Moon (Buggy Nova) has checked into WWE sponsored rehab, which is why she hasn't been seen on NXT or on the NXT roster page.

You're facts are incorrect. She asked for her release, they did not choose it.

If rumors are correct, the divas division is about to get a push like the tag-team division just got, so I reckon she got out at the wrong time.

We can only hope they use AJ's popularity to make the division interesting and make sure people are once again invested in the division enough so they can have 5-10 minute matches without boring-chants. (hint to WWE: Make a heel stable with Punk, Heyman, Ambrose, Cesaro and AJ and put the strap on her).

The Women's division in both Impact and WWE are at an all time low right now. It's especially down for impact wrestling. The women's division was once a big strength for them and got high ratings for them.

Then Bruce Pritchard came on board and doesn't like women's wrestling so now its down to a segment a show. Also, with TNA offering per appearance pay the division is basically dead.

Fuck. Already? Fuck. Shit.

According to WWEDVDNews.com, the Attitude Era DVD/Blu-Ray scheduled for release on November 20 has either been cancelled or delayed indefinitely.

Speaking of Attitude Era:

What is your favorite WWE segment from the Attitude Era, and why did you like it so much?

Mick Foley stealing the corporate Rock's money (which Vince had paid him from Shane's trust fund, iirc) and giving it away to the fans, buying Debra a sweater to keep her puppies warm, hiring out Max Mini for the day, etc. Awesome.

Wow... He actually seems like a smart business man. Maybe the company won't tank after Vince McMahon's dead.

Weirdly, one of my favorite Attitude Era segments was the crucifixion angle with Undertaker and the McMahons and Austin.

It was just mentioned this monday, but Mick Foley's bump from the top of HiaC to the announce table in his match against Taker is by far my favorite (or, if I can pick that entire match as my moment, the entire match!).

Don't think I really need to explain why.

The whole Ministry storyline was a huge highlight of the attitude era for me - loved it, loved the 'higher power' reveal. JR sells it perfectly.

"OH, SON OF A BITCH!"

Easily, the best moment of the Attitude Era is Mark Henry's sex therapist sessions, where he admits to having sex with his sister when he was 8 years old and she was 7. Then he gets up and starts hitting on the female therapist.
