Hey guys!,

I need your expertise on this matter... I burned out AMD 2800+ (BARTON?) from my EMACHINES T2865. I know don't buy emachines blah blah blah well I'm on a budget and it only cost me 700$ on sale.

Well I'm in serious need of finding a replacement if someone can tell me where to get a AMD 2800+ Barton/Tbird/whatever for the CHEAPEST price in Canada, properably in the GTA region I'd really appreciate it. I found a couple of sites but some are like 295$ or 159$ I know you can get them cheaper. I don't know much about this computers motherboard I didn't get a manual so I don't know what it can handle. I found an AMD Sempron 2500+ 256KB L2 cache RETAIL BOX for $99 does someone know if this is compatible with an FIC AU31 motherboard? I first put an AMD 2200+ into the board and adjusted the FSB and nothing showed up on screen neither on default setting nor on like 133/166mhz. But when I put in another 2800+ back into the PC a different one it worked it booted up.

I just need help picking something cheap, cost effective and will give me reasonable preformance.

keep in mind that you can (if you want to) put a XP 3200 in there. I checked out emachines website.
