Just got it. Brand new Sandisk Memory Stick Pro Duo. I've plugged it into the PSP, formatted and started to do same file trasnfers. At 650MB left it stopped during the MGS3 MP3 soundtrack folder transfer with a "disk full" message (on Total Commander). WTF. I checked the files, tried some MP3s and worked. Than I tried to open the MGS3 folder but no luck. I then tried to erase the folder (via PSP) and I got an error. Tried via Total Commander: again, no luck. WTF, I said, I'll create a brend new folder and put my MGS3 mp3s in there. Done. Got back to the PSP and it reads "0" MB left. ??? Every media section is empty. The MS led is blinking. Then I tried to format the shit via PSP: "no MS inserted". WTF??!!

I've tried to format it via my PC but I get a middle finger. So, what am I supposed to do? I'm clueless.

Wow, that was quick. :)

AFAIK, you're supposed to format it on your PSP. If you haven't already, turn your PSP off and then back on, and format it when it comes back up. Make sure the UMD drive is open/empty so that it doesn't try to load the UMD on startup.

No:/

The PSP doesn't see it at all. It ask to insert the memry stick when i try to format
The PC just says "impossible to format"

These procedures work fine when I use the old Sony 32MB MS

I did all that already before starting to transfer the files. I know all the "basics" so don't ask me to do stuff I already know :)

When I turn on the PSP, the MS led first blinks rapidly (as it always does when it reads from the MS) and then it start blinking at a slower pace and that's it. PSP says there is no MS inserted.

EDIT: I want to make it clear that the MS DID work at the beginning. It just started to get crazy the more stuff I put into it and now is dead.

Now this is funny.

I've just got a second SanDisk 1GB MS from a friend of mine. He bought the MS from Taiwan. A "PSP compatible" sticker it's on the package too.

Here is what happened when I tried to use it:

When I insert it into the PSP it gets indeed seen by the system, but I cannot format it ("Format Error" is wat I get) and it reports a "0KB" free space in each media section of the PSP user interface.

All of this happened AFTER I formatted the MS via PSP and transfered a good chunk of MBs (videos, MP3s) on it the first time.

MS doesn't seems to work on my PC and laptop either. I can see the directories and some files, but I cannot format/delete anything and some files report a "0KB" size.

On a more "positive" note, it appears I'm not the only one with this problem.

Just wondering if anybody here has ever heard of this issue before. Damn, I got 2 MSs from different places and both are fucked? Geez.
