I kind of have a dilemma. The store that I buy most of my gaming stuff from (which is an EB) is probably going to close by the middle of next year. Basically, they are a very low volume store and surrounded by Gamestops. I can't see the new parent company keeping the store open. I'm marked down for a PS3 pre-order at this store, but since there are apparently no official SKUs for such, its not really 'official'.

Does anyone know of any places that ARE taking official PS3 pre-orders? By that I mean "here's money, give me a receipt and tell me where I am in line" type of pre-orders. I really don't feel like getting screwed as it seems alot of the 360 buyers might be.

I just did it at the mall store where I did my 360 after E3. They had no sku for the 360 then, and they had no sku for the PS3 last week.

Talk to the store manager where you'll be shopping and have him set it up for ya.

Its good to be the 1st pre-order!

That remains to be seen. My general policy is pick the system up at launch, regardless. Thats the beauty of disposable income, I suppose. I honestly think this generation is Microsoft's to lose, but most don't hold that opinion. I just know that, working in the technology industry, you tend to pick up on certain things / trends going on.

Totally true. I didn't even know it died for our sins, but I did grab a few of their brochures.
