Seriously, where is PGR3?

We saw some vids from games like Kameo, Condemned, Fullauto.. but where is PGR3?

Is it playable? If Bizarre Creation is planning to make a launch game out of PGR3 they have to release some in-game footage.

/Most anticipated Xbox 360 game.

*bump*

anyone? Is PGR3 playable? Any new footage? If it's not playable, why not ffs? they better have something if they're planning to release it in november.

I think the videos were pre-rendered. That's why they aren't showing it. Or maybe the framerate is really bad...

its not on the floor and i'm 100% sure i know why. BC was PISSED at MS during e3 2003 because MS made them waste dev time prepping an e3 demo. I bet BC either refused or fought not to waste time on an e3 demo so they can give us the best possible pgr3 by launch.

no search during E3 so... I posted my topic. Guess its sort of old. This is like MS's first party's biggest title and they don't show it? :?

because it takes time to put together an e3 demo. this is time a dev can spend developing a game. if pgr3 is going to be one of the premier 360 launch titles, theres no reason to waste a month of dev time on a demo that will be seen by a few 1000 people for 3 days for free at that.

true. I agree. But not to single out anyone but this IS like their biggest game that people have been proclaiiming is in game. I've seen the trailer and the GI bouncing off the models is so apparent, that I think its all CG. If it doesn't at least hold up to the trailer... :O Most of the other visual target games have missed their mark so I was wondering how this one will stack up.

GDC or something then.

There's got to be a lot of bullplop to that explanation, unless you are willing to posit a decent theory as to why anybody would bother with playable demos at all, if afterall they are a waste of development time solely for the benefit of a few thousand people.

Because, as mentioned in another thread, back in e3 2003 the exact same thing where MS made bizarre creations create an e3 demo and they we're livid about it because they had to take time out of their development.

Also, to those that think it's cg, take a look at the buildings at 36 seconds in. They're very low on geometry. Nearly flat, even. You don't really notice because it's very quick cuts, but front what we've seen in screenshots, I really don't see why the trailer is necessarily cg.

If the PGR3 video was an indication of where the game's detail level is currently at, it may just chug on the current alpha kits and so was left out of the show.

What? That makes me sad, it was one of the most impressive X360 titles shown. Hopefully the final product lives up to that vid.

because of the global illumination. Go google it.

Global Illumination is normally baked right into textures and verticies of the environment geometry. Global Illumination on the vehicle lighting is normally faked with a cubic environment map or a spherical harmonics gradient. Rallisport 2 Gotham 2 Forza GT4 etc all use the same technique. From the videos there is no way of telling whether the GI is rendered on the fly or baked right in. The only thing I think I could see going on is high dynamic range lighting which is quickly becoming a hallmark of next gen graphics and that is fully achievable in real time on current high end cards.

it wasnt CG. this is fact. you can quote me on this and the reason as well. go watch the video with sessler interviewing J allard and listen to what he says about e3 demos. what i will also tell you is that if you thought pgr3 looked good on the alpha kits prepare to be blown away. remember that the beta kits just went out then add the fact that pgr3 is missing. put 2 and 2 together people. thats all i will say.

barney how do you know all this?

2+2=4. and oh. i have my sources. geez even without sources its common friggin sense for god sake. you guys always think games or better yet around e3 these demos just pop outta thin air. if you guys wanna see pgr3 in full form for 360 launch then just be patient.

speaking of beta kits.... has the ati ruby demo running on beta kits been made available yet? i have a few vids of it if anyone is interested :)

I thought beta kits wouldn't be out to July? I guess that the important devs may get them earlier though?
