seriously question for turn-based RPG fans.

It deserves to be praised, it's pretty good . Is it better than:
FF 4-5-6-7(remakes included)-8-9, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Chross, Xenogears (probably missing some)?
Nah.
A woman starts singing and people lose their minds...
It's all basic orchestration and minimalistic style.

In terms of composition FF9 music is more complex and varied.
There is probably more work in the ragtime of FF9 (single instrument) than on any of E33 tracks.

(sadly Final Fantasy games fully embraced minimalism after 9)

Game of the Decade talk is just nonsense.

It's not fit to lace Elden Ring or BG3's shoes.

It's arguable as to whether it's even the best JRPG or 'JRPG-like' this decade, let alone game.

Yeah Metaphor ost is doodoo I said so when they revealed the dumb chanting battle music lmaoo

Like wtf were they thinking

I didnt even bother finishing Metaphor I might go back to it but eh..

It's alright. But I am not feeling it like I did with SMT4. But if it's any consolation, the SMT5 OST is still miles ahead of the Metaphor OST, which is probably Atlus' (and Meguro's in particular) weakest work.

Probably one of the best battle themes in the game and it gets close to SMT IV's greatness

This one is great too imo

And this one is dope too

No, not the best game in the decade (that'd be Persona 5 IMO) but it's very nice to see a non-japanese developer creating a game heavily influenced by turn based JRPGs.
Expedition 33 is an important game for the genre in that sense, it shows that there is both commercial value and cultural relevance in turn based RPGs.

Edit: I guess Baldurs Gate 3 would also fall in to the genre and it's arguably even better than Persona 5. They're pretty different so my preference could change on a day-to-day basis tbh.
