Jason Kidd murdered my dog in cold blood!
I'm in EB last night, waiting for my bus to arrive so I can go home.

The nerds are gathered around the counter as usual, saying the dumbest things you can possibly imagine; it's like a live version of a Gamefaqs board. One nerd in particular is pissing me off because he keeps boasting about having "over $4000 in computer games", only to have the clerks say "OMG Trade them in here!" over and over again.

We'll call him nerd 1. Nerd 1 was talking to Idiot Clerk 1 and IC2.

IC1: "So... do you like Halo 2?"

N1: "No way, it sucks, give me a break"

IC1 looks at IC2: "I told you!"

N1: "It's way too slow. Not like Quake 3"

IC2: "Yeah..."

IC1: "Oh yeah, Q3 rocks!"

N1: "Q3 is the best. Check this out"

Then N1 rolls up his sleeve to proudly display an enormous Quake 3 symbol tattoo. The entire time he is smiling like his first child was just born.

N1: "See? Do you see a Halo 2 symbol here? Fuck no. Quake 3 baby"

For the next 5 minutes, literally, there was nothing but "OMFG That is so f'ing awesome", "Wow, that is sooooo cool" from the two clerks.

Then N1 goes on to say how he plans to get more Quake 3 tattoos when he gets more money.

...

Why?

...

I think I want to get a Willy Beamish tattoo myself.

I thought about getting a triforce between my shoulders. I still may do it some day. But I sure as hell wouldn't tell anyone what it means.

Because it is a buddhist symbol?

Getting a gaming tattoo is like getting a tattoo of your favorite band. Eventually the band will go out of style and you'll look like an idiot. How'd you like go through the rest of your life with a Guns and Roses tat on your arm? :lol

Getting a videogame tatoo isn't as bad as naming your children after a videogame character.

What are you talking about? My wife wants a girl named Samus. :D

Why get any tattoo? I would assume because it means something to the individual, and seeing as it's not on your arm why the fuck should you even care?

GAF Trivia Question #236: What's worse, the guy in EB showing off his Q3 tattoo or the guy trying to prove to a bunch of strangers on the internet that he's totally hip and not nearly as nerdy as those nerds at EB by rushing to his PC to post on a gaming forum about how nerdy the nerd with the tattoo is.

I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff

She will regret that once your daughter decides to drink disinfectant because of the torture she receives from school because of her name.

I love dumb white people and their Chinese/Japanese symbol tattoos.

So its the Japanese word for peace? Yeah, sure it is....

...can't be any worse than going to a comic book or Star Wars convention.

Great self esteem booster there... there's always people far worse than yourself.

BTW, my wife wants to name our kids (when and if we have them) after X-men characters. Nothing wrong with naming your daughter after Samus...

Logan Emerson (Emerson is my dads mid name) for a boy
Aurora (take off of Ororo) Munroe for a girl

Oh yeah, posting the next day is *really* rushing to my PC. o_O More power to ya if you honestly think my original post was, in any way, me trying to be hip. I mean seriously, nice attempt but me calling someone a name does not mean that I am the opposite. If I called someone fat, does that automatically mean I'm a body builder?

As for naming children after game characters, I always thought Anakin was a great name. I'd never do it because of the torture he'd go through, but I like the name nonetheless.

I'll go for option X) the fact that you and all of us are interested

So, why did you get that Quake III tattoo? :)

Can't be any worse than this:

My cousin has a Budweiser tattoo on his arm. He proudly displayed it to me and yelled out "King of Beers Baby! Right there!" I nearly snorted beer through my nose when he showed me.

This zelda tatoo is pretty cool:

Although I'd never get one in a million years.

Also Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda after the game, heh.

I designed this a couple months back. I'm still thinking about getting it. It'd be really small and somewhere out of the way. Puyo's are eternal! There will always be Quake and Halo sequels and shit, but the Puyo will last through the ages! I've also thought about just printing up some temporary tattoos, because those are far more radical than regular tats.

just no quidditch tattoos...

I can definitly understand the QIII tattoo, however, I don't think I'll ever garner any unless I'm really into regular body sculpting. As far as QIII goes, I really think a tribal rendering of the logo would be rather interesting. I would like to see it done well.

I would bang a hot farmer!
Getting a gaming tattoo is the same as getting a cartoon/comic/band/etc tattoo.

If either of you have Scottish ancestors I could understand that. :)

Yeah I thought that was pretty cool. I named one of my dogs Kirby but I don't think I would go much further than naming pets. I don't want to get any tattoos in general.
