Can't wait. I play through this on the 360 every couple of years, really looking forward to it on PC. For me, the main draw is the gunplay. It's similar to RE4, great weapon variety and impact. I love the zoom camera on a critical hit. Plus the soundtrack is amazing. I just hope the cutscenes are skippable.

Awesome! When I played Stellar Blade it was simply called "Jiggle Physics". She would ask what are you going to play today? Jiggle Physics I would state! Then I'd get the low tone, "Jesus Christ."

Started this AM before work and it’s super solid so far. Sometimes just a res and framerate bump is all you need for these cult games. Well done.

Also getting one hit kill headshots seems easier now, but that could totally be due to the 60fps. Everything is so silky.

Also good use of the haptics/triggers.

So far only shooting but it’s good and satisfying. Music doesn’t seem as lo fi as the original. Audio overall is cleaner.

I pre-ordered through LimitedRunGames a few months ago. I think pre-orders closed by now so I'm not sure where one would purchase a physical copy now. I suggest checking Amazon and Ebay, I've purchased LRG releases from both in the past.

I usually go through VGP as they get LRG releases. I was wondering if there is a Japanese physical version that's out. I imported my copy of Lollipop Chainsaw from Play-Asia myself.

One of my favourite lines in all of videogamedom, had me seriously lol-ing when I first heard it years ago and now I've got a clip to go back to again and again



I forgot just how good the banter between Garcia and Johnson is, this is one of the best duos in all of gaming and both of their voice actors crushed the roles. This game is seriously funny, it manages to be campy and punk rock both at the same time, Suda's fuck you attitude and overactive imagination present at all times.

On a negative note the game doesn't hold a consistent 60 and there really isn't an excuse all these years/two generations of hardware later. It also feels stiffer than I remember and I wish you could increase FOV/disable camera bob on sprint but I'm getting used to it. Some areas like the excellent storybooks seem to be in the original 720p resolution too.

Overall though I'm having a blast all over again, Suda's humor/bloodlust x Mikami's design philosophies x Yamaoka's killer OST makes putting up with the jank easy, you really can't put a price on fun and it's hard to complain at $25.

Its just as fun as I remember. Some of the music and sounds are very Silent Hill like which is cool after just playing the SH2 remake. Seems like a good enough remaster. 60fps 4K? I only find it stupid that you have to shoot the boxes on the floor.

He really is a master of ambience and ethereal tones. This game is a huge showcase for that imo.

Looks about right in terms of review scores. My main concern comes with the technical parts of the remaster. I never got to play this back on PS3 (did emulate it briefly, though), so it would be good to have a definitive modern release that isn't fucked in some fashion.

Also, let's not pretend like a Rock Paper Shotgun writer was going to say something different about a game like Shadows of the Damned. It's really not worth dwelling on.

Normally I'm a replay fiend, but despite really enjoying this game back when it came out, I only played through it once. When I moved a couple years ago I stumbled across my old 360 copy and I was going to install it on my Series X, but then this remaster got announced so I figured I'd wait. I just started playing it on PS5 last night. As far as I can tell they haven't changed a thing, just looks good on a 4K TV and runs smooth. Good enough for me, glad to finally be re-playing it.

It’s odd how I have only completed no more heroes 1, but still buy all his games. Generally the gameplay is atrocious in his games but the atmosphere, writing, and absurdity of it all really feels special.

Hoping this one will be the second game of his I beat.

Goddamn does this feel fucking good to play again. Especially in 2024. Absolute refreshment. I’m so glad nothing got fucked with. The b movie vulgarity and banter between Garcia and Johnson is just fucking primo.

Yamaoka really nailed it out of the park with this one. Forgot how amazing the soundtrack is. And the higher quality sound just makes it that much better.

Perfect Halloween/Fall season game. And a REALLY perfect game to play after shitting yourself in SH2R. The Yamaoka godliness carries right over too

I tried to play through this game earlier this year on Series X and while I made it much further than usual, I still couldn't finish it. There is something about the controls that just feel off but maybe I'm just trying to compare it to RE4. The level design is pretty awful and the sense of humor just rubs me the wrong way. Great soundtrack though.

jesus fucking christ... it's a gen7 Unreal Engine 3 game having framerate drops on a console that is LITERALLY more than 40 times more powerful.
when, in theory, a GPU with ~18x the power should be enough to run it at 4k 60fps. which begs the question how a ~40x GPU power increase still results in frame drops
