Shellshock 2: Blood Trails - Any reviews?

The first game was incredibly bad, but this one is made by Rebellion, who made the awesome Aliens versus Predator game. Does anyone know anything about this game?

It's a survival horror game set in Vietnam. That's about all I know. Oh, it's coming out in a week.

I love reading reviews of truly shitty games!

Miserable graphics, poor sound and a story which isn’t able to fascinate – this game is a no-go. Maybe the king of no-gos. Don’t play this title, it will definitely be wasted time.

Shellshock 2: Blood Trails is an insolvent try to bring back to life a forgettable war franchise, changing its context to the horror style. No matter from which angle you choose to look at Blood Trails, it’s a horrendous videogame. Boring, exasperating, and ugly in the most literal sense of the word.

Shellshock 2 is one of the most poorly designed and unplayable games this generation. Not even its admittedly interesting premise can keep it from feeling unfinished and completely unnecessary.

So we'll probably hear about Rebellion closing down in a month or so.

The reviewer says that he didnt beat the game... maybe it pick up after the first levels.

Really? The original had a really nice concept. It was basically a very brutal take on war, something a lot of games try to avoid. This just tossed all that out the window for some weird crap.
 
I think he might be overselling how bad it is. I'm going to play it today. I love terrible games, but something like Turning Point Fall of Liberty is just dull. It's super boring. Its expansion Legendary was a lot better at being a terrible game though. But let's go to the top of the bottom, now a shitty game like Operation Matriarchy, that's on a whole new level, it's simply fantastic. I doubt Shellshock 2 is as good at being bad as Matriarchy, but a 2/10 would suggest it's approaching this level. More later!

This is all you need to know about Rebellion now, they're the go to guy for quick on-schedule by the numbers games and ports. They're also fucking huge now though, so depending on which Rebellion studio is working on a game.. it could be in the quality range from 'ok' to 'average'. Hehe.

this is a joke right? how do the two story lines tie together?
 
Yikes, that sounds terrible. Significantly worse than the original even. How on earth did THAT happen? Rebellion hasn't released a good game since 1999...
 
I interviewed a guy from Rebellion for a job position a while back (being really inspecific here deliberately) and he was openly hating on just how bad this game was in his interview. Just about everything that could go wrong with a project seems to have gone wrong with this, and when your devteam know its terrible while working on it you don't hold out much hope for the finished project...

This is the most fun I had with Turning Point.

Hour of Victory, now that's what I'm talking about. Proper b-game that.
 
Yeah. This game isn't enjoyable in any way, it's just unplayable nonsense. So fucking confined, even call of duty would get claustrophobic inside this game. Hehe. Then there's the dumb pointless QTE prompts. Nice one. I wouldn't continue on beyond the first stage for all the ISKs in the world. All the ISKs in the world might probably be less than my yearly salary at this point, but come on that's still a bit of money right there.
