Shinji Mikami Says "Something for Xbox" Is Likely about Ghostwire: Tokyo

Shinji Mikami, the executive producer of the game, indicated recently in an interview that the team would Tango Gameworks would "most likely" have something for Xbox.

Mikami said as much in an interview with VG247 where Ghostwire: Tokyo was discussed at length. It was acknowledged then that the Microsoft acquisition of ZeniMax Media and therefore Bethesda and its underlying studios happened during active development of Ghostwire: Tokyo. The release plans for PlayStation 5 and PC stayed their course, but Mikami said they will "most likely have something for Xbox" as it relates to the new game.

He also speaks very positively of working with Xbox so far.

Somewhat unexpectedly though, Ghostwire remained a PlayStation 5 exclusive, with Xbox pledging to uphold all agreements made prior to the acquisition. Still, Mikami thinks they'll "most likely have something for Xbox," in the future with regards to Ghostwire.

Despite this shift in ownership, for development staff, very little has changed. "Working with Xbox has been really smooth," Kimura says, "although that part has been mostly handled by Mikami," the director adds. "Having Mikami at the top of Tango to make decisions that are sometimes difficult just makes things really smooth," Kimura explains, making sure to add that Tango generally receives "a lot of help and support" from Xbox and Microsoft.

Ghostwire will come to Xbox after year. That's for sure. But maybe he is hinting towards second Tango project in development under Johanas

he said nothing. homie basically said Mikami handles that shit, I dunno. This is news to me.

It's possible for mikami to handle most of the interface and still possible for the rest of the studio to feel that the relationship is smooth. You can understand that, can't you?

He also mentioned that he would direct 1 more game if he had funding and complete freedom to do what he wanted. But it's not like it was a confirmation. I think he was asked about it.

Buttttttt .... he kinda has both those things right now. Just sayin'.

He said last year that he wants to do another/his last project when he discussed project Noah I think.

Of course it's gonna come to xbox, same deal as Deathloop, 12 month exclusive and probably no official mention from Xbox until the date is over. After that, should get announced and released within a week or so. Might end up on PS+ at the same time as well.

Great for Xbox if so, the haptic feedback on the ps5 controller adds so much to the experience of Ghostwire though, which it will be lacking.

Deathloop does a pretty decent job on mimicing it on the Xbox pads, this will probably be similar.
