Should I sell my SNES Mini

In all honesty Ive used it just a small bit when it came out, put some extra games on there like Chrono Trigger but I haven't touched it in years.

Also I never used to have a snes as a kid so Im not that nostalgic for it.

I do also have a NES Mini, Megadrive Mini and a PSX Mini which I all used to have as a kid so I have more nostalgia for them (even though I never use those either)

What do you guys think

Their value continues to rise. Keep it for another 5-10 years and it will be worth 10x what it is now especially if it’s in very good condition and obviously boxed.

It's HDMI only. Might as well just emulate that shit. SNES graphics should never be transferred as a digital signal. It's absolutely gross.

There are a thousand ways to play SNES games. It's the smoothest way to play them with a modern TV and wireless controller. I almost never use it because I installed shortcuts to my most played games on my modded Switch -which will succumb one day and I won't want to do all the work over again.

I have a new and sees mini that I have never touched. Bought my nephews one and loaded the NES mini with 100s of games. Never did the same for mine but figure I will at some point.

I wouldn't sell it personally, I love mine, but if you don't like it then why not?

Tell ya what, why don't ya just sell me that PS Mini, might just make ya feel better about the whole damn thing ya know?

I've been thinking about selling mine. I bought it used like 3 years ago and I've probably used it twice. Put about 20 extra games on it but eh...I basically use my Legion Go ( and before that Steam Deck) to emulate those games and I actually complete far more of them that way ( which I think says more about how I game generally nowadays because I haven't beaten a game on a stationary console in a few years). I've actually been thinking about selling my Analogue Pocket as well ( another system I've only used once or twice) and grab a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 when it releases and use it exclusively as a retro Nintendo emulation machine ( NES/SNES/N64/GC).

I got pretty much all the minis. I haven’t even opened the ps1 mini. Added games to the nes and snes. Those two and the turbografix are the ones I use the most.

Asides authentic controllers, they are all novelty.
You keep it for what it is - and mine's are mostly for decoration, and fulfilling my nostalgia @ not much $$$ + space. They are so dang cute though! :)

I have a bunch of minis new in box. Genesis 1 and 2, turbografx, and both Nintendo minis. I was thinking of selling, but may keep for a few years and see if they increase in value.

Personally i'd keep it, people bitch & moan all the time about the switch online service how you don't own the VC stuff and the game selection is poor & you are just renting which is true. With the minis nintendo gave people an option where you can play a curated (or rom filled hacked version) of snes stuff that basically you own forever with no other costs. Even if you don't play a lot it's worth keeping around because you can tailor it with the absolute the best of the system now it's been fixed with rom patches to pretty much play 99% of all the game library including weird ones that had emulation issues before.

One other thing is the market is flooded with fakes of varying quality so if you let an original into the used pool and at any time you want another down the line good luck actually getting a genuine one and not some fake chinese shit in return, now it's a nightmare having to screen for fakes for new users..

If it has any affective / collector’s value to you, don’t.
Mini consoles are cute gadgets. A dedicated gamer can play all of those games on a single, more practical system. And with tons more options, too.
While I played all of them,I haven’t touched my mini consoles in years. They’re still cool little gadgets.

I haven't played my NES and SNES classics in years, but I will keep them unless I get an offer I can't refuse.

Well I can sell it for 110€. Which is probably about the same price I paid for it at launch, maybe a bit more (I think they launched at 99€)
Big sell. The only retro hardware worth holding onto is the OG stuff with analog outputs. These minis are just inferior emulators with nostalgia-catnip form factors.

Yeah you're right. Also I hooked it up last night to test it and it looked like shit on my 4k tv.

I was indeed thinking I could just emulate them on PC, or maybe mod my switch in the future (if it's easy).

Gift it to a gaf member who can appreciate it. You don't deserve money from it, you monster! If you don't have nostalgia then you should create nostalgia.

Edit: I now saw that it doesn't even have DKC2 so I forgive you. Here's one of the best songs from the series:

I hope you can one day understand how mindblowing DKC and DKC2 were back in the day. Imagine being 6-9 and starting your console and you are greeted by this:

Ofcourse I did put DKC2 and 3 on it :)

it’s just a pre-built emulation box. If you’re into collecting or want a plug-and-play classic experience, it’s worth it, but I’d rather use other setups (analogue pocket). Keep the controller, though.

Never really used mine, either. Hooked it up to the TV when I first got, played a few levels of SMW and that was it. It serves a good display on my shelf right now. Boxed and all.
It's nice to have it there should I ever want to, but I also still have my original SNES that will then be used instead.

SNES Classic is so good and so authentic it replaced my SNES. I never need to dig it out ever again.

Couldn't imagine not having or wanting one.

Keep it. I've put CT, MMX trilogy, Final fight trilogy, TMNT, DKC2 etc on it and didn't use it for years as well. But it has some genuine classics and an official release of Starfox 2 (which I absolutely liked).

My Genesis mini was eventually dusted off and I use it nearly every month.
