Better? Worse? Equal? Sure, I could have read reviews on GameFAQS, but I value GAF's opinions on topics such as these. Anyway, I re-bought Silent Hill 2 (original, sealed bitches) because I never beat it. I know SH3 has some tie ins with the first, but how is the story? Cool? or kinda meh? The thing I noticed about SH2 is the lack of baby monsters with knives. I know 4 sucked so we won't talk about that.

Just as good when playing. Has many great moments.
But looking at it afterwards, it's not as good.
But I think it may have more 'moments'.

A very, very good game even if it ain't quite like SH2.
Definetly more frightening.

It's a buy for sure. Very entertaining and great production value. Just don't expect great things of the story and you'll be fine.

So many other great moments as well. Whish I could play this game from fresh again.

While I prefer SH2 I believe SH3 is overall a much better product. SH3 beats SH2 in most regards like gameplay, graphics, music (production-wise), the production values were obviously high. The only things going against it is that the story is not as good as SH2 and its quite short, it lasts 6 hours first run.

SH2 had a killer storyline and the atmosphere was IMO perfect, it wasn't overdone like in SH3 but not non-existant.

Still SH2>>>>>SH3

I would still say SH3 is damn fine game.

Yeah. They streamlined the system a bit in SH3. No wandering in the dark in the city trying to find your way, as it is much more linear in directing you to the areas you need to go. I think SH3 is the better game, but SH2 story is far superior and more interesting
