I'm from a shitty small town in Southern Ontario called Cambridge, that explains why the sequel to Silent Hill (Silent Hill 2) was shot here this past week, I just realized this now, I guess I missed all the fun in my own backyard.

Even though I am a fan of the series (games) I never seen the first Silent Hill ( It got pretty bad reviews, no?) Anyway for what it's worth here are some pics that I found with a quick Google search, apparently a horror film fan (blogger) from my local town went out and took these pics and put it on his blog/facebook. ( along with pics of him making out with his overly pierced gf)I hope he wont mind if I share them.

Believe it or not this is the "downtown" of the town I grew up in...sadly it doesn't look like the production designers of this film had to work too hard to change the look of the town!

Very cool, though I'm pretty sure some of these were already posted in the other thread on the sequel.

The first film isn't bad... I guess it didn't do well with critics, but it's actually quite watchable and it does a lot of things right.
 
I did a quick search, but didn't see anything, sorry if it's OLD!

Also I like to know if there are game related clues in the production?

last SH game I played was number 3 ( I don't think I even finished it ) and it's been at least five years for me since any Silent Hill game, can someone tell me if the store signs or any other props reference specifically to something particular in the game?

For example I notice the wardrobe of the lead chick is dead on with the main character of the game. What else is straight out of the game?
 
I've never been a Silent Hill fan, but the first film didn't do anything wrong other than change Harry and add Pyramid Head for no reason at all.
 
So....who is involved in this production?

I read Akira Yamaoka is interested in doing the soundtrack, but nobody has come to him yet.

IMDB page says Sean bean and Radha Mitchel are involved again....didnt know that.

I dont know, i think the movie is gonna end up shit to be honest.
 
As long as it retains the amazing visual design of the first I can't see it being shit. I think by far the biggest problem in the film was in fact splitting Dahllia into two characters, thereby needlessly weakening the parallel of motherhood between the protagonist and antagonist.

Well, this one is gonna be adapting Silent Hill 3 and they're bypassing SH2, but this stuff has been known for a few months, actually.

Pyramid Head was just fan service, but whatever, he kinda rocked in the movie. Ridiculous, but still kinda fun to see him.

Yeah, Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean are back...

When i heard that they were skipping right to Silent Hill 3, I was worried that the series would be getting the Resident Evil level of movie treatment. That they were going to three with possibly no tangible connection to the first movie (early synopsis quotes seemed to contradict a tie to the original, somewhat) and side stepping 2 so that they could have a hot girl in the leading role.

Hearing that the original cast will return has me very stoked.
 
First movie sucked because they were able to get the aesthetics down but they dumbed down the story and completely turned it to shit, but what can you expect from a coked-up failure like avary who had to made the movie a dumb commentary about HURR CHRISTIUNS.
Also the director clearly had no idea how to build up tension and terror and had that annoying woman running arround and screaming all the time.
That's not how good horror works.
This one is probably going to repeat those mistakes IN 3D.
