Bring her Back trailer. Horror fans get in here!

I thought Talk to Me was mediocre and mildly overhyped. This seems much darker thematically and more interesting, I might catch it at the cinema once its out.

I really like Talk To Me but yeah this seems alot darker and unsettling looks right up my alley.

That used to be true but their last few films haven't been very good. It used to be I wouldn't miss an A24 film. I didn't bother with their unicorn film or Opus.
A24 has too wide of a net with too many different creatives and directors to judge their entire brand on any few films.

It's not like Blumhouse where you can directly see when the line of quality dips and rises altogether.

I would tend to agree. I can't even remember the plot, which isn't great.

Edit: passing on trailer as I typically don't watch trailers but I'll end up watching this once it comes out. Talk to Me wasn't bad or anything

100%

I even avoid reading about the plot where possible

I find not having any sort of idea as to what the plot even is to be highly enjoyable. it even makes mediocre films better. I recently watched Heretic not knowing a single thing. it made the movie way, way, way more enjoyable then had I watched the trailer. the movie was okay, but going in blind elevated it to something special (despite me thinking it kinda fell apart at the end).

on the flip side, I do end up watching a bunch of pretty bad films that I would have avoided had I seen the trailer. still, I find it worth it, because when you stumble on amazing film blind, it is a highly memorable cinematic experience

edit: I watch a lot of really weird films, which especially benefit from going in blind.

A little introspection is required. Why do you think a film would be spoiled by watching a trailer? Apply this to dating what if you get a tranny surprise because you didn't check?

it's not that it's going to be spoiled, it's that I enjoy the process of watching a film not knowing what the plot is more than having an idea as what the plot is

Definitely gonna see this one, the trailers look awesome.

Watched it yesterday. It was 10x heavier than Talk to me; lots of children abuse - both psychological and physical, small children self-mutilation, gore, ouch.
Reminded me of Martyrs and A l'intérieur (2007).
All the actors gave fantastic performances (and the Asian girl is blind IRL).
For you to decide if you really want to see it...

Yea this was dope. Dark as fuck. Loved every minute.
More of a psychological thriller/drama than straight horror.

I never watched Martyrs because I don't like gore but I survived Bring Her Back even though I was wincing and flinching the whole time. Maybe I should give it a watch.

That's a lot darker and thematically heavier than I thought it would be. I like horror, but not if it's a little too much to watch. I want to get scared, not come out the cinema mentally and emotionally damaged.

its just 2 scenes that happens, and both are plot devices and they last like 10 seconds .

Martyr's is a MUCH darker movie than this, and way more depressing. Marty's is an all time depressing movie, this, is not.

Edit: That being said... this is not a movie to "scare" you. its not Talk To Me. Its way more serious and darker than that. Its not a horror movie. Its a dark, twisted, psychological drama/thriller with gruesome elements so it classifies as horror because horrible things happen

Why does it feel like A24 is the only one making movies that are actually interesting?
Smaller budgets, leaner staff numbers and a desire to branch out from safe designs and show a little risk with their ideas.
A24 doesn't always hit on point, but they are still consistently putting out numerous movies that are worth watching, compared to the much bigger studios that shit out the cookie cutter garbage that isn't even worth scoffing at.
