SimCity |OT| It's not the simulation or city that matter, it's <parameter: string>

Is there a way to get a refund if you bought this through Green Man Gaming? I just want my money back at this point. The game doesnt work.
 
I think my frustration also comes from the lack of communication from EA/Maxis, if you have a look at say Twitter/Facebook the updates are few and far between than pre-release. I know there's forums but with social media being popular and where the majority of players will look to for answers. Even a small update very 20 minutes "we're on it" would be better than silence till after the fact.

Man, I am so glad I listened to my gut and didn't buy the game. I really hope they get this mess sorted out, because the sooner the game gets working and playable the sooner they start patching it and working on the larger city sizes. Because I want to buy the game, but not until it's at a state that I feel like it's worth it.

How does any company refund for a digital, if you have already redeemed the code? I can understand Origin, since they control the service and can turn it off, but Amazan and GMG do not.
 
Yay, now I'm in spectator mode every time I enter a city. Just when I think I've found all the error messages and varieties of ways this game malfunctions, I discover another one.

Alright, I'm calling it a day. Got a little bit into my dual city build, but I'm still on dirt road so I've got a ways to go and a lot to learn. Hopefully that can all work when the servers are up and the bullshit is sorted out.

Off to Red Dead! I might even play offline just for the hell of it.
 
You guys have shitty luck. After maintenance was done I played for about 3 hours non stop without issues.
 
thinking about how complex a game like Planetside 2 is, with it's thousands of solders, tanks, planes and various vehicles, can go off without a hitch, while a game consisting of drawing roads and watching buildings pops up, is massively screwed upon release.

Tried that deleting trick, and it almost worked. Loaded my city in for about 3 minutes, then crashed with an unable to load message.
 
Back home if anyone signed up for Discovery Delta 2 still needs an invite. 7 out of the 16 people signed up so an update would be appreciated. We need you :D

Edit: Having an issue right now where I have a lot of buildings say "I miss going to school" What's happening? Plenty of bus stops and the schools remain active but still plenty of room. Not sure what to do.

I am playing in EU West 2 as well. I remember that's where DD2 was right?

think about how a game that only has a couple people walking around and shooting can have so many problems, when a game with a highly complex simulation engine processing tens of thousands of data points all connected with each other per city for a huge amount of users can run without problems.


The way you phrase it should be neutral when trying to make a statement like that ;)
 
Man... Things have gotten from bad to worst regarding servers.. Soo much hate for this game right now. Understandable, but I still really just want to get back into it because I really loved what I played.

Yeah im from the uk on eu west servers and had no real server problems. Today i was getting server lost connection but i was never disconected even after an hour.

Dunno what everyone is complaining about :P
 
80% of the jobs in my mining city is unfilled, but it is connected by rail to a city of 45k low/med wealth people. I see 1000+ people commuting out by train, yet only 130 arrive. Is this a bug?
 
NA East 1 is such a shitshow :lol I think I'll just play on a different server that actually works for now, until that gets fixed.

Further clarification about my education problem and people having trouble getting to school, no clue what is happening. Still have lots of people going but my skilled worker rate is dropping dramatically and factories built to support it are are closing down (but coming back as the same skilled worker needing type) What am I doing wrong? So befuddled.

Me and maybe 3 other GAFers are all trying to start up a region, and I am just seeing "_____ started playing SimCity"..."_____stopped playing SimCity".

A pretty good representation of how things are going right now.
