But is there any other way because I have a ton of trees and I just want to have a clear path of land.
But if not, I can wait.
I built an oil well and the guy said get rid of all the trees so we can drill baby.
But I don't know how.

There's a removal tool under Parks.
Is there an option to turn off the Heroes & Villains pack? It keeps popping up every couple of minutes going on about Evil Dr. Wu and wanting me to accept a quest to prepare. I don't even have a fire department yet. I'd like to just build a city and not have them force DLC on me that I didn't actually want to begin with.

Haha, always online required DRM and constant in-game advertising that you can't opt out of?
This game literally is my worst fear when asked a few years ago about "What's the worst thing that will happen this gen in games?"

Still waiting for my Titan Gorge 1 invite.
I just accept the missions and then cancel them when they pop up on the right side of the screen. Does not seem to bother me about them after that.

What in-game advertising? There isn't any.
No doubt Im RLTTP with this but the SimCity bug caught me just now and I looked at the price... £64 for the full version and £44 for a gimped version!!
Hate being a student. Maybe Ill look at one of the old SimCity games and get my fix that way
The £45 one isn't gimped at all, it's missing some unessential skins.
And it's £35 for a physical version on amazon and £36 digitally on greenmangaming

i accidently clicked the tutorial and it was like trying to make me claim an unclaimed city. had to leave game to get rid of it.
I was actually given your spot reluctant since I can't get into mine because of a reclaim city issue.

You mean inside a GAF region? I thought the tutorial was it's own isolated region?

Metal change my city to Wessex Bend. Because I can't get into mine because someone claimed it then abandoned it and I don't have access to it at all.

That had nothing to do with advertising. All versions of the game currently ships with the "Heroes & Villains pack" built-in. This pack adds a bunch of quests which pop up from time to time, that's what the person was complaining about, he doesn't want to do those quests.

Careful with energy sources, I depleted my oil power plant and ran out of Money so I could no longer import oil. That would have been it for my city but Luckily someone just started a new city next to me and I was able to buy power - oil is 12000 for a shipment on the global market, buying power from a neighbor you only pay for what you use

Doesn't say. Just says it was abandoned. I posted screenshots a while back.
Anyway, I'm redownloading the game as I was getting random crashes so frequently.
Everything was fine yesterday.

I'm trying to invite a friend to my region but his name doesn't show up in the in-game friends list, only on the Origin client friends list. Has anyone had this issue? I also tried searching for his name in the game and got nothing.

Yeah, having this issue with Spl1nter right now. He's on NA East 2 but I can't see him. I was able to invite 3 other people up to this point.

Okay i've got about 8 hours into this bad boy (yes i'm obsessed).
Couple of questions...
How do I get materials I don't have like Alloys? It says to "trade" for them? With WHO and HOW???
Also, my city has a CONSTANT demand for more residential and industrial but MY WHOLE DAMN CITY IS ALREADY MAXED OUT SPACE WISE!!! What the heck-in-a-hand-basket am I supposed to do??? Can I force my houses to be bigger or something?

I start the game by clicking GETTING STARTED.
I am taken to Summer Shoals and..... nothing I get no tutorial messages.
I did log in this AM real quick and did get the first message about using + and - to move the camera around and quit out. Now it seems I'm stuck here and can't do anything but move he camera around. I found this Youtube video showing the area and I can't seem to trigger the event where they point out City Hall, even though I am looking right at it. Any suggestions? I can't seem to do anything other than this.

I started the game but it forces the tutorial even if I exit to the main screen. Also, the tutorial never starts running so I just see the starting city and have no control to build anything. I waited 10 minutes for it to start and all I could do was watch my money disappear.
I was hoping everything would be better by the time I got off work. I will try again in an hour.

Oh that sucks. The entire appeal of the game is playing with other people, how did they mess this up so badly day one?
That's happening to me. I can not get the GAF region invite, because I'm not showing up even though I'm on the correct server, and in-game.

Updating now. I'll probably try to find my way into a GAF region tomorrow, but for tonight I'm gonna play a 3 city region and learn the ropes.

I restarted my game -- complete quit out (not just to the main menu). Once I restarted, I was able to see Spl1nters on my list and invited him to the region.
Anybody else trying to get on DD1 -- make sure you're on NA East 2, message me, and I'll coordinate with you to get you invited.

Oh, okay at least it's doing the same thing for everyone! Whew. I thought I had caused a bug because I quit out of the tutorial this morning. For some reason it seems no tutorial messages pop up when you press GETTING STARTED and you CAN'T DO ANYTHING but lose money. This is going to really puzzle people. This is the first impression. They need to fix this like yesterday.
UPDATE: I went back to main menu and now I have PLAY and SIMCITY WORLD. Weird. I guess I get no tutorial now?

Same here. Starting to think this game may have more problems than just Origin.

So how did you guys get the gaf games working?
I'm trying to start a game with a couple friends and it won't load my friends list in ever. In fact it tells me I have a friend request from someone that origin, outside of simcity, lists as a friend.
And the city size... ugh.

- See that really tall dark building on the right. Yeah, its dark because I HAVE NO MORE ROOM TO BUILD RESIDENTIAL!!!
Man I didn't think the size limit would bother me but its basically ruining the game. Either that or I'm just not "playing it right".

I think it's a good game, but this is the biggest problem. There's a point when you dont have any room for more buildings. The game keeps nagging you to make police departments but theres no room. I dont know what they were thinking.
