December 21st? Since WHEN?
If this is ancient news, my apologies. But last I heard this was coming out late January.

I enjoyed this season a lot, and 3 commentary tracks with Conan O'Brien seals the deal.

Sweet, i hope they can up the release schedule to like 2-3 seasons a year, man at this rate the Simpsons movie would be on DVD!

Sweetness!
I still haven't finished watching my Season 4 DVDs. I absolutely love the audio commentaries...Conan is incredibly funny when he's on.

And what's this? Some of the ep. don't have Matt Groening commenting? WOAH (I just find it incredibly that, so far, he's been on all the episodes...amazing effort).

Yeah, if only he'd put that effort back into the series. I originally thought that Jon Vitti (Mr.Plow, among others) writing the movie was great, but he's written some really crappy episodes in recent seasons.

The DVDs kick ass...I go through them, watch an episode and then the commentary for the episode. Good stuff.

I don't know if anything can top Season 4, that may have been the pinnacle, but Season 5 is pretty awesome as well. Afterall, it has the best Simpsons episode ever, Cape Feare.

Hail to the KING baby
Pure. Comedic. Genius.

Contains arguaby my favorite episode ever- "Homer Goes to College" (Conan O'Brien)

Also the underrated Marge episode, "Marge on the Lam" (Bill Canterbury)
Marge: Well, I don't think they'll be that easy to lose. These are professional lawmen, and -- [Ruth turns the car's lights off]
Wiggum: Oh my God! It just disappeared. It's a ghost-car! [slams on the brakes]

Another classic, classic, classic Homer episode, "The Last Temptation of Homer" (Frank Mula)
The post-season 8/9 writers should really watch episodes like this one to see how to make a great Homer episode and not make the best character in TV history one of the least likable now.

Yet another Top 10 episode- "Deep Space Homer" (David Mirkin)
On the dangerous trip back through the atmosphere, the shuttle heats up until it glows red. Buzz and Race hum, "The Battle Hymn of theRepublic," while Homer sings, "Oh, those Golden Grahams. Oh, those Golden Grahams. Crispy, crunchy, graham cereal, brand new breakfast treat..."

Conan O'Brien was definitely a part of it, but at that time you could tell the entire writing staff had that magic that I don't think I've ever seen on any show, or will ever see again. The laugh ratio on these was astronomical, you'd literally come in expecting a huge laugh every few seconds and it was twice as often. The fact that a good deal of the jokes were topical and still funny is also a testament to the writers' abilities.

Menu's are funny but low quality. Commentary on Homer Goes to College ends up more about how Conan got his current job than about the actual show. Some of the deleted scenes are pretty good though.
