^^ hideos 3DMark2001-like graphics :(
Bring on F.E.A.R.!

Thanks, EvilAvatar.

That's Source for ya. HL2 looks as good as it does mostly as a result of its fantastic art direction...

I'm honestly not suprised...the Source engine ain't exactly a powerhouse

might not be what I wanted but still...this is SiN :D

edit: Meier, aye...remember that. Was SiN one of the first games to be anal about aiming? (i.e. smaller bounding boxes) I remember being suprised that a shot a quater of an inch to the left of a bad guy's head registered as a miss

Not bad, not impressive, but I´m sure it´s too soon and too little to evalute anything.

By the way, now you speak about FEAR, I played story mode for a hour some days ago in the presentation in Spain.. it completely rocks, and it´s incredibly scaring as well. Gameplay graphics, enviroment, all is fantastic. I´m quite hyped for that game.

Well yeah and it looks awfully(?) realisitc as well. This tries to be cartoony or something... hopefully the gameplay will be a'ight. SiN was fun, buggy but fun.

As others have said, Source isn't *that* amazing. Not by today's standards. In 2003 (when Half-life 2 should've been released, but any 800 different theories explains why it didn't) Half-life 2 looked frigging *amazing* and absolutely nothing looked anywhere near it's quality. Near 2 years later, it's becoming dated (especially what with a new console gen around the corner).

Source is still pretty advanced when it comes to procedural animation. The only problem with that is no one besides Valve is that interested in using it.

Wasn't SiN an anime?
Yeah, but don't even bother trying to find it. It is absolutely terrible, and not in an even moderately entertaining way.

I played the hell out of sIn way back when an adored it. It's strengths were it's graphics, and level design and detail. Music was pretty good too.

However,, Half-Life released at the same time with a more realistic combat model and now sIn's arcade-like damage system feels archaic and out of place against the rest of the features which I like about the game.

Elexis Sinclair's trap and secret laden mansion was completely awesome, but shooting a low-poly mutant in the face fifty times was not.

Nevertheless... I feel a replay coming on.

P.S. I think I liked 2015's sIn expansion more than the original game, and I originally played them back to back, after all the patches.

I wish I could pull an alpha kit excuse because this looks remarkably mediocre =(

Half-Life 2 was good looking mostly because of the insanely good artistic direction, without the great enviroments and masterly crafted textures Source looks really poor.

SiN was pretty fun for what it was, I remember some horrific load times before the first patch though. Hopefully they're remake some of the multi levels, like the giant room where your character is ~an inch tall. I'm suprised nobody else has done maps like that (as far as I am aware).

Sure hope they bring back that giant gimp meatbag abomination thing. What a fucking annoying boss that was.

There's been tons of maps made like this by fans.

but you're paying $20 for this content. that's gotta mean something!

long live micro(macro)transactions. the future of gaming

Yeah, 'Behind the bookcase'.. that was a great map.

Has there been any info as to when they are releasing this?

I loved the first SiN and cannot wait to play this one.
First ep at the end of the year or something like that, no? Don't remember the month. Ah, 'this winter' is what it says.

Those shots look quite a bit better. I think this looks very, very cool. Different themes/settings/styles like this are what I'm really hoping the FPS genre explores more of in the coming years, as opposed to just more and more war games. Also, this chick > Johanna Dark. :p

Much nicer. But it doesn't remind me of SiN at all.

Honestly, the graphics don't look as good as Source can produce because of the style. No realism, highly stylized. It looks more like some teenybop FPS though.

screens screens screens... sfw.
listen nay-sayers, its all about the gameplay, and a GOOD highway shootout, if assembled correctly, could be fantastic. i like the bullet holes in the side of the van.

this game could be a rollercoaster ride of set-pieces. the only problem i have is the screens of what could be in game movies. which, of course, are usually total crud.

i await with open eyes.

Anyways looks better than PD0...
Yeah and that is really, really sad. Screw that "ALPHA KIT"-Excus, this runs on the Source-engine and I think it well run well on an 1 year old PC.

The PR folk for these companies should just stop releasing screens. Release videos.

And if the game isn't ready for videos, then doctor up some screens for god sakes.

Man...

I hope they can deliver a good game with the spirit of the original...

The first game is far too dated to duplicate, so they will need to rethink the gameplay mechanics and general design. However, I hope they lay the cheese on nice and thick...

This is one of my favorite wallpapers.

Also, just to let the fans know, in the anime,
JC dies and it's revealed he has a much hotter sister that also goes by JC.
That's the girl you see in these images.

Edit:
Whine whine whine.
