Kickass trailer...all that style still couldn't make me not think "What the hell is Rory doing there?" though. Like...you don't cast a Gilmore Girl in a film like this. Lauren Graham has her Bad Santa turn, I guess this is Alexis' equivalent.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'

YUP!

And James Bond is in this movie!
You mean Clive Owen?

I could see it.

A question for anyone familiar with the Sin City books. I've only read one, the original with Marv. I've heard the rest of the books quality varies. What are some of the better ones? Are there anymore that feature stories with Marv?

Marv is in A Dame To Kill For. Haven't read it personally but I've got it, and the rest of the Sin City stories, on my HD but I'll get round to it eventually. I've read The Hard Good-Bye and The Big Fat Kill which was quite good.

For the record, the movie is made up of Sin City stories: The Hard Good-Bye, The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard so I'd recommend reading those 3 but you've already read The Hard Good-Bye so just go with the last 2. :)

The film also opens with the Sin City short "The Customer is always right" from The Babe Wore Red collection.

Thank you very much for the informative reply. Glad to hear Marv is in another. Thanks man!

Well at least the music in the trailer was good :lol And what was up with Bruce Willis' forced bad-ass voice? My god that was cheesy

The music sounds like Robert Rodriguez's stuff. It could be from the movie or something he whipped up just for the trailer.

Edit: I just listened to it a couple more times, and the bit before Devon Aoki throws the star sounds VERY much like Rodriguez so I'm almost sure it's him.

It is Trance to the Sun by Devil's Club

You know that for sure? Or are you going off a blog post where someone was listening to that song when they posted about the trailer? :lol :lol

Edit: I just looked up that song on Amazon and the sample sounds nothing like the trailer music.

Yeah, I looked up the song, wasn't the right one.

I'm nearly 100% certain it's Rodriguez.

And seeing as how he does everything on his movies, including the score and cutting the trailers, if it's not him it's someone who is really trying to sound like him.

Your probably right. It sounds damn cool though like there must be more somewhere. MAybe it'll be on the soundtrack.

I donno if this is new of not, but some of the acting sounds bad.

That trailer was fucking awesome, the actual movie doesn't look too great though judging by the footage drozmight posted

Even cooler is Rodriguez quit the DGA (again...) so Frank Miller could get top billing as Director even though they both directed the movie. The DGA has some rule about there not being two directors credited or something like that, so Rodriguez quit. He quit previously over Four Rooms.

Apparently Rodriguez wants to do all of the Sin City stories as movies. And if they get to keep making the movies like he wants to, Johnny Depp will play Wallace in the next one. Depp enjoyed working with Rodriguez so much on Mexico that he begged him to let him stay on and they made up another character for him to play.
