Yeah, it looks like this will continue in the tradition of Underworld and the Star Wars prequels.....amazingly cut trailer -- totally shitty movie. San Diego Comic Con footage is not very encouraging. Why is all the "acting" so stiff and sterile? Why is Hellboy covered in band aids?

The only ones that seem bad to me are the gillmore girl, the black hawk down dude and Britney Murphy (I laughed at how bad that one line was).

The entire first half with Josh Hartnett was terrible. The only actor that seems remotely promising is Bruce Willis.

Just so people see this.... I made a new folder on Soulseek... called... GAF :lol.

Add:
BrokenSaint(CDN)

Then right-click on my name and choose Browse Files.
Open My Shared Folder.
The GAF folder should be there.

I uh... bought all the other music in there.

I'll try not to limit any of your speeds

I saw that clip of Hartnett's scene a while ago, and it was pretty weak. I know nothing about the comics, but given that it's Robert Rodriguez and given the footage I've seen, I'll just assume for the time being that it'll be another film with style and absolutely no substance.

I agree, although they still need to be delivered in a way that's grounded in reality imho.

As someone who has read Sin City... I can say that this trailer captures the feeling of the comics quite expertly imho. It's really quite nice how they did it. And since Sin City is such a good read this bodes well for the movie.

I just hope it all comes together well.

guys.. re the comic con footage. Its important to note that the movie is being flimed almost completely in front of a blue screen... alot of them were missing the backgrounds still.

Elijah Wood as Kevin makes this the best movie ever. When tis was first announced I was a bit skeptical because RR tends to go crazy with style in his flicks. But it is Sin City, and he would have to try really fucking hard to mess it up. CC footage looked great, trailer looks great, and Elijah Wood is Kevin. Best comic book movie ever. No doubt.

My company is working on setting up the Sin City game right now and so I get to see a lot of materials on this. It is literally like 99% faithful to the comic. Robert Rodriguez didn't even write a script or storyboard. He just through the books down and said 'there's your script.' Crazy!

I don't suppose you could drop any minute details regarding the title? Like will it stick closely to the plot and look of the film/books and retain the black&white look while using color sparingly for such things as blood, lips on the female characters, a shine of eye color etc?

Hey I saw the trailer before Aviator as well (which was a very enjoyable movie IMHO BTW).

Unfortunately I'm not very familar with the comic that inspired this movie adaptation but it did look interesting. I hope that whole neon appearance of the film doesn't wear too thin but it does capture a kind of sureal look which I guess a comic series turned to live action should possess. (I also liked the other trailers they had for that Crusades based movie, Clint Eastwood boxing movie, Bruce Willis hostage movie).

just got a chance to see the trailer / comicon footage. I can't wait to see this flick, it looks so damn good.

Clive Owen was great in the BMW films but I haven't seen him act well in anything else since. I hope this changes that.

I thought Clive Owen was fantastic in The Bourne Identity. Sure, it's not like he had a huge role, but death scenes are tough and he pulled it off super fantastically.

No, but I was making two separate points in my first post. Firstly, the artwork is crap. Secondly, people will not see it because of the shitty artwork.

In this case, the movie looks to have poor quality and will also have a small box office figure.
