Skill Up has released a movie length documentary on the making of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Don't mind his reviews but he does tend to get stuck up his own arse.

Not watched but I suspect this is one of those times.

Ha ha, yes.
The game is absolutely great, but you can clearly see a Souls-like fandom in the making.
I think it's great, especially for what it is but is has some (minor) flaws ofc.
Still, can't wait to see what Sandfall does next.
The game really was a breath of fresh air for it's mature storytelling and believable characters (writing and voice acting) in these day's DEI culture.

Always on the fence with him. He clearly loves games and he has built a fantastic catalogue of some *(i would argue 70/30) great content.

Anyway..will watch, E:33 is one of my all time favorites at this point.

One of the only reviewers that makes content I enjoy, and tends to have opinions that fall in line with mine. I know a lot of people kept asking him about this review, so it's cool to see that he did something much more for it.

I wish I cared about this game, but I really don't. I'm definitely happy for the studio and their success though. People have SCREAMED their praises about this game.

eh... i'll check it out some time, but him moving into doccies as someone who's never really attempted it before kind of screams "my channel is in trouble".

as much of an actual cockhead Danny o Dwyer is, you can't deny that it's his bread and butter (skillset).

The fans are going to make me hate this eventually by being insufferable.
Its starting to become that way.

I haven't played the game personally so maybe i'm missing someting, but from everything i've seen and all the coverage it's a great game...

masterpiece though, i dunno, something obviously happens when you are playing that watching doesn't convey.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked it a lot. I recommend playing it. People can go a little overboard sometimes but it is what it is

Started the doc and enjoying it. We can glaze over all the things that make this game great but it really is more than the sum of it's parts. You see how that happens in this doc with everything coming into place. The small dev team had flexibility and a passion to make a specific game with certain limitations and they stuck the landing. It's a story of how a small team of people can make something incredible.

Nice, will bookmark it to watch it next week over my lunch break.
I for one don't mind the glaze, keep it coming. Best new game I've played in a long time

His views seem to be pretty consistent, so I doubt this is the case. He just liked the game, and wanted to do something more than a review. I don't think this will be a recurring feature.

He pulls around 250-500k on most of the videos he puts out, i dont think hes struggling tbh.

If you form your opinions on video games you've never played, based on pure contrarianism to what other nerds are saying on message boards online then bruv I think you need a new hobby...

One thing the doc mentions is how books and movies tend to leave a lot of things unsaid (implied or you put it together yourself), whereas most games (especially AAA) go through pains to overexplain story beats to make sure nothing is missed to even the dumbest of dumb. E33 doesn't do this and trusts the player to figure things out.
