Skyblivion Delay to 2026

As a project by fans, for fans, we need a little more time to ensure Skyblivion lives up to the standards you all deserve. Our anticipated release window is moving into 2026.

It's not all bad news: Our new interactive map tool is live! While you wait, you can now explore the full, finished world of Cyrodiil from the snowy Jerall Mountains to the sand-swept beaches of the Gold Coast.

Their undertake is immense. I can just wish them luck. I want to play Skyblivion but I can wait. Also it seems I'll wait much longer because dlcs won't be included with the release. They tackle them (if they'll have energy) after the release.

Really happy they decided to re imagine a lot of the cities, dungeons and ruins based on the original concept art. This makes it very different from the official remaster that still has those weak copy pasted designs even though they look more up to date in UE.

In a statement given to Rock Paper Shotgun, project lead Kyle "Rebelzize" Rebel said the project is not "dead in the water" but rather, they are just looking for a few experienced hands to help get Skyblivion over the finish line.

"The update video we shared last year holds true," he said. "While the team is doing well in terms of progress, we are stretched thin as we have been for the last decade, so the call to action was an idea to try and get a few extra hands on the project to help out, mostly with polish."

"We listed all departments not because we are dead in the water and have nobody left to help out, but because we currently have good momentum and want to take every opportunity we can to make sure we can keep that up and maybe even find one or two people to help speed things up further," he continued.

Last year, a former Skyblivion developer claimed the mod was being rushed out the door and had become a crunch project for the volunteers.
"From what I see internally, I am pretty optimistic. All quest locations are finished and QA'd, the Imperial City has gotten the breakthrough we needed to push that through and I hope soon to have the city completed in terms of level design. Mechanics are in good shape, and we are quashing bugs left and right. We still have work to do, and of course, as you know, there's always the chance shit hits the fan, and we suffer another major setback," Rebel cautioned.

He continued by saying the team is "so damn close" to getting the mod out there, and insists "my goal has never been to keep this game from people any longer than I have to."

Rebel appreciates the community's passion for the mod, but advises patience.
