I know it's SP only, but I'd really like to see a co-op mode with the fighting system. Imagine all the brutal combos that could be done with a buddy.

This looks pretty cool, will look out for it.
I don't have a problem with them speaking English (pretty much everyone in Hong Kong speaks English anyway), it's the American accents that bug me.
Eidos London has been helping with the development, and I can't recall the last Eidos game that ran poorly on PC for me. So I'm hopeful.
The main character is from America.
Well that would make sense I guess.

Games looks good. Might not be a GOTY contender but it looks really fun.

it just looks like the type of open world game I would make if i had unlimited resources. as someone has already said - it takes the best bits from all the other open world games and gives it a hong kong setting... the only disappointing thing is no cantonese track, obviously an executive decision... i hope they really flesh out all those ideas like face points and neighbourhoods you take over and such... im so there for 17/8/2012!!!

it wont be a GOTY contender but thats because mainstream sites won't give it the hype it deserves.
just like just cause 2 and crackdown - games GAF loved but hardly any GOTY mentions - just the usual marios, and portals, and zeldas, GTAs, MGS because i dont know its just easier to get clicks?
Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. And I'm hoping you can seamlessly roam around the entire city without loading between districts or anything like that.
They did ModNation Racers. Supposedly they have a lot of people from other open-world devs now, though (like Rockstar Vancouver and Volition).
The style of the narration and the breakdown of the various gameplay systems is pretty reminiscent of the Design & Tech videos Rockstar's been doing for their last couple games, starting with Red Dead. Might be referencing that.
That was awesome! I've been intrigued for a good while now, and the trailer was really awesome. Hong Kong's city lights are gleaming! I love the hand-to-hand combat, and the brutality involved with the environmental finishers. Is it wrong to be excited about character customization?!

Hell, I think this is a great way to showcase any IP, new or not. Prerendered CG and live action trailers do nothing for me; I don't even bother watching them anymore.
Sleeping Dogs looks like it could be really fun. I'd love to see this turn out great and sell well - not just for United Front's sake, but also for Square Enix to be rewarded for taking a risk here.

it looks like what Saints Row 3 could've been. i like the yakuza influence of using random objects and the max payne slo mo influence.
the part where he burns a guy's face on a stove-top? absolutely fantastic!
i think i can let the language thing slide seeing as how much content is stuffed into this game

I don't think that's true. If a site gave Just Cause 2 GOTY it would get a shit ton of clicks from fanboys complaining a game like that got GOTY over their Uncharteds or Marios. And I don't mean to be hatin' but do you honestly think JC2 and/or Crackdown are better than Portal and/or Mario Galaxy?

Anyway, multiplayer would be cool, but is not needed, because there is so much to do in this game. However, I would have love to street race or play xiangqi(or whatever that board game was) against others worldwide.
