I'm picking it up.

I don't expect most people on here to really give it a shot. It's lower budget, and it's a new IP so 2 strikes already. Add reviews coming in under 90 and that's basically 3 strikes you're out around here. Really shows the truth around stuff like Flintlock, which was a great action game released this year. Has nothing to do with DEI. People are just very safe and conservative with their purchases and want safe gameplay they recognize in established franchises or remakes with nice production values.

I almost forgot about it but haven't seen any promos of it. Maybe Japanese only (for now) didn't help with the awareness.

Anyway, obsessing over hype is kinda dumb, you shouldn't care that much about it.
Edited for clarity.

I am hyped. But I feel that the digital version will get quite cheap sooner than later and since the disc version is not available in Brazil for pre order... I will probably wait for a price drop on the digital version and eventually I will buy the disc too.

I will give it a shot, but body swapping in Parasite Eve the 3rd Birthday was weird.

When I first saw the promo art. I thought it was going to be some sorta Silent Hill meets Junji Ito's Gyo.

I don't really buy games at launch but I might pick this up down the line if the reviews and online impressions are good.
The only gameplay video I've seen showed some interesting ideas but looked janky as fuck

I'll grab it when it's cheap. No reason to get hyped for games any more these days, especially from an unknown studio.

No big publisher behind this project so no marketing and less hype. The positive is that the devs will have much more creative freedom. I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm definitely not buying at launch. The trailer of the game definitely had some "wait for sale" vibes.

Honestly i like the idea, don't like the art style. It feels to vibrant. Can't take this game seriouly. Maybe it is not meant to be takes seriously. And that mean i am right to not be hyped.

I feel like I'm the only one super excited for this.

Toyama, Yamaoka, great art direction, stellar cover…

Hey OP thanks for reminding me this game exists. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

When a well known Director found his own studio, we usually get a mess like this game seems to be. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

These people have been involved with good games, but the problem is I don't like what I've seen from this project. The gameplay looks decidedly terrible.

Sorry but the gameplay footage they've shown looks like hot asshole butter. Not because it isn't trillion dollar AAAA but nothing about it looks interesting nor good to me. Combat looks like a bargain bin PS2 title in a not-fun way.

I'd gladly eat SH2R levels of crow but...

Slitterdead on arrival
Unfortunately yes. This is neither a aaa nor refined sh*T mechanics.

If the plot is good and gameplay is fun it can be a hit. Devs need to learn to cater to the niche audience better. Unironically I enjoyed the Xbox tgs showcase because the devs showed actual gameplay and could describe their game vs western devs marketing speak.

These gameplay games (core) need better reviewers due to mainstream dropping the ball aka find good streamers with gaming knowledge is essential.

I'd say it's scaling with it's actual potential customers, which is sad...but Toyama games don't historically sell very well, so there's that.
