god, this game is so irritating. I'm kicking ass, then the ref stands right in the middle of the action and gets hit. I get DQ'd and lose the match. Is there a way i can turn him off?

The ref can take 2-3 strong hits or moves before DQ'ing you, but I agree, he gets in the way too often.

Isn't that the point? Sometimes that happens in "real" wrestling, so the game is just emulating reality.

But I know what you mean. The targeting in the game is a little sloppy. Grabbing at thin air trying to initiate a grapple looks ridiculous, and I know you didn't mean to clobber the ref. Collision detection is another problem, but thems the hazards with wrestling games. It's a difficult thing to simulate.
