Haven't really played a PC game since the C64 days but I couldn't resist the allure of Half-Life 2. I tried using the mouse/keyboard set up but I cannot get it. Love aiming with the mouse, but the keyboard is where I get messed up. Keep having to look at the keys & getting killed.

Anyway, I picked up a Smartjoy X Xbox-to-USB adapter in the hopes of maping a controller scheme like Halo's to work for HL2 (I know this is sacralige for some of you and I apologize). Can't seem to make the right analog stick map the controlls of the mouse for looking. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance.

Not just WASD, it's also

E: Action
Ctrluck
F:Flashlight
Spacebar:Jump
R:Reload

etc.

Hard to undo years of console controller use and switch to M/KB.

You should take the time to learn. I used to be the same way as you, but I kept at it and I realized how much more control you have with a mouse/keyboard. It might suck at first, but eventually you will get the hang of it, and will never want ot go back.

believe me, I know your woes.

It doesn't take long to overcome, however. I'm still used to doom controls on a keyboard, but WSAD is pretty easy. Everything lines up with your fingers, it just takes a bit of practice.
