Snake Eyes > Storm Shadow, for one simple reason.

[note: referring to the old show]

Storm Shadow talks.

Ninjas operate by stealth.

Storm Shadow is a poseur ninja.

Discuss.

I just watched the "Revenge of Cobra" miniseries while I cleaned.

It's ridiculous by "this couldn't actually happen" standards, but it's still great.

Though, I do wish they'd explain how Destro wears a metal mask, but the mask shows facial expressions...

I thought that too, until I saw him climbing up this rock and being all like "AAAH GET OFF ME" to Spirit's eagle... and then he fell in the water or something :lol

Future Trunks

I always thought that Storm Shadow, who is supposed to be stealthy, might want to look to a more shadow-friendly corner! Come on now, white stands out too much.

Storm Shadow is THE man because he wears white. Think about it. He is so badass, so confident in his abilities, he chooses to wear a color that stands out. He doesnt need to blend into the shadows and all that because he is that good.

But not trying to discredit snake eyes either.

Doesn't that one guy on G4's Screensavers'/Attack of the Show have the ninja forearm tattoo from SE/SS's ninja clan? That kicks much ass.

Also, Soft Master > Hard Master >>>>>>>>> Snake-Eyes > Storm Shadow

Anyone who remembers Soft Master fucking up the Springfield police department looking for answers in the Marvel comic (which was sooo much better than the cartoon) will agree with me. Although Storm Shadow breaking into the Joe's base whupping them all was pretty kickass.

i dunno man. i like snake eyes... but i've seen storm shadow completely destroy a tank with his bare hands. HIS BARE HANDS!

he did a series of karate chops in key places, and a few seconds later, it crumbled. truly awe-inspiring.

now if snake-eyes has done anything more impressive then that, please enlighten me.

Did the Hard Master even do anything to show off his skillz? All he really did in the comic was change his heart beat and got killed by Zartan (everyone thought it was Storm Shadow) like a chump.

So for me it's Soft Master >>>>>> Storm Shadow > Firefly > Snake Eyes > Hard Master

I like Storm Shadow more cause he's arrogant and relies more on his ninja skills than Snake Eyes (that cheating gun user!) does.

Firefly goes ahead of Snake Eyes cause he took over Hard/Soft Master's clan (Red Ninjas).

Storm Shadow may be more of a true ninja, but he's lacking something that Snakes Eyes has in abundance: PIMP SKILLZ. Simply put: Snake Eyes bagged a hottie like Scarlett despite looking like this (*points at avatar*). That alone puts him over Storm Shadow.

Hard Master didn't do much, but he DID inspire total respect and near-fear from all his underlings to the degree that I'm willing to give him big badass points based on implied rep alone.

And if we rank all the ninjas from GI Joe, where do we have to put Jinx? As a ninja, she was kinda lack-luster. But as a finance clerk, she likely had mad skillz... at least enough to hang with Firefly. And I'm not sure if Billy learned enough from Storm Shadow to qualify as a true ninja, but he *did* survive the rocket that killed Soft Master and lost an eye to boot.

No ranking for the Blind Master though, I don't remember him doing shit.

That's because she does it out of pity, the lowest way to get a girl! Scarlet was already his girlfriend and they've remained together. SHE'S PITY GIRLFRIEND! =P

Hmm, thinking about that makes me put Snake Eyes behind Hard Master now.

He walked through a mine field and then faked his death (and scarlet's I think) by stepping on one and escaping without being seen or injured in a field full of people. That's pretty bad ass.

Huh. That *is* pretty cool. Shame I can't remember it though. :|

I'm so pumped to run out and buy the first couple of years of the comic. I just hope no one tells me they reissued them or something because I won't be able to control myself. Just thinking about how bloody awesome the October Guard was (so damn cool!) or how much the Yearbooks rocked. Argh, potentially expensive nostalgia alert! ;)

The funniest things I remember about GI JOE:
- the Dreadnoks. Fucking *biker* terrorist/mercanaries. Thank god I was 9 when I read that shit! :lol
- how many of the soldiers had gigantic, full beards
- the brilliant combination of those hilarious 80's fads - rah-rah military fiction and ninjas. When you think about it, the first couple of years of Joe could be viewed as a ninja story with some army dudes in it
- the fact Quick Kick had neither shirt nor shoes, yet presumably was still able to eat at the canteen
- the shameless racial/ethnic typecasting. Injun tracker? Check. Asian martial artists? Major check. Black dudes from the ghetto who learned to fight in gangs? Check. Cajun dude named Ettiene LaFitte? Check.

I still maintain that the most annoying GI Joe character was Shipwreck. Apparently, although he was mainly a sailor, he could pretty much fill *ANY* role the Joes needed hah.

Yeah I was thinking that at home I have about 65% of issues 1-100. I wish there was a site that had all 155 in PDF or something. I looked at BN and Borders online and all I could find is graphic novels 1-5 that contain issues 1-50 at $25 a each. I probably will buy them but I want all 155

Hey, pity or not, at least he's got a girl. When's the last time you saw Storm Shadow with an attractive member of the opposite sex on his arm, eh? Never, I'd wager. Y'know, now that I think about it, maybe he's a little funny, ya know? Got a pinkish hue to that costume of his...

I think they're pretty cheap. I'm missing only a few issues in my collection so i thought about buying them, but then i saw that they included the really bad coloring. There are little red dots that are really noticible where it looks like the characters have chicken pox or measles. Very disappointing, IMO.
Hasbro has done issues themselves for the Comic 3-pack toys, and none of the color issues are in them, so it's all very clean looking the way it should look.

Snake Eyes is way cooler than Storm Shadow. Watch him breakdance in "Pyramid of Darkness", and just try to tell me otherwise, and forget that he appears in drag later in the episode.
