Incredibly low system requirements.

I'll try through GamePass. Hopefully it's better than the last one but the animations look very rough.

Holy shit does this game look dated.
I'm actually kinda shocked even though i didn't excpect much.

Yes, they are basically using the same engine since Sniper Elite 4, with very little changes.
On a positive side, it runs very well and doesn't have the stutter issues that UE5 has on almost all games.

I keep thinking the Sniper Elite games look interesting - worth playing 2,3,4 etc?
They are good in coop. I liked 4, but thought 5 was better. But then a few people who have been with the franchise longer than me didn't like 5 that much.

Don't expect to just sit in a nest though, you need to unlock better silencers and weapons, so it's more like a stealth action game at first - the excitement comes from unlocking new infiltration points and approaching the mission from a different pov, and the side quests.

The invasion modes can be fun, but you can turn them off. And the pve is OK too.

I wouldn't play through them all since from 3 they are extremely similar with a few changes. The biggest change from 4-5 was the inclusion of an invader mode.

I'd say go with 4 or 5 and see how you get on. They're not groundbreaking but definitely a good time.

Recently played through the first three games and have yet to play 4 and 5. Will snap this up at some point when it's dirt cheap.

They're alright but some of the visuals are getting really dated now.

Same game 6th edition, this looks and feels exactly like the last one , which I would never buy but had a good time with gamepass , same with this one would be a good 6 7 hour fun
But my god they should stop milking ww2 and try something different

So far it has a 70 in metacritic. Seems like critics didn't like the fact that the game is too similar to SE5

Well, I love sniping games so I will still play it and support it. I have on steam almost 200 hours with SE5 so I am enjoy these games

If this helps developers to make more money so they can make Sniper Elite 6 better then so be it

Funny. I have the normal edition on Steam and I am able to play lol

They made some mistake but a good one indeed, lets go!

Lol i thought i read something similar the other day while i was checking the se5 topic :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

On a positive note, it's not using UE4 and having tons of stutter.

2 is actually my favorite as the Mortal Kombat X-Ray fatalities hadn't overstayed their welcome and I prefer the more linear level design to the open worlds that came with the follow-ups.

This looks and runs surprisingly nice on my old PC, I can play it maxed comfortably, if the first mission is indicative at least, but it's not some small scale indoor corridor or whatever. Definitely not super great next gen visuals or anything but it's well realised. TAA isn't great & seems over-sharpened with no option to reduce that but since it runs so nice most folks can probably just supersample it comfortably and get rid of remaining jaggies. Gameplay feels so polished, no jank whatsoever so far, the cover system as you're just crouching about and approach corners is so seamless and smooth.

It has a bit of ray tracing nearby/self shadow thing that doesn't affect performance on non RT hw too. Edit: oh it also uses Denuvo anti-cheat but if you don't wanna play multiplayer you can actually refuse installation, it specifically asks you a couple times as you go to start a game, so it's something.

Newzealand trick didn't work earlier today :(

Another half a day to wait for this.

First new game purchase of the year.

LOVE these games, but people need to understand this isn't SE6, but a spinoff while (I'm assuming) the main team works on Atomfall.

Invasion mode is back and that was my favorite part of 5.

I don't see why it's getting so bashed, it's a nice niche genre, folks haven't been missing something cool like Splinter Cell (Blacklist) that doesn't just go all COD or whatever?

Hitman did the same engine/reuse stuff & got a ton more praise. Shit, SE evolved more from jank to polish (it's fine since 3 on that front, though even the first game's cool).

It's pretty clear it's not 6. 5 was so praised just 3 years ago, suddenly more content is bad, like we're flooded with stealth action games of the sort. I must have missed them.

There is no TAA in this game papi, if you want to remove jaggies what I do is to use DLDSR, and then use TAA from vort_shaders shader from reshade. It cleans really well jaggies, you have to check first SMAA when using reshade and then activate TAA with vort_shaders. If anyone here needs help with the installation let me know

Basically I play always these games with this combo and jaggies are gone

It definitely feels like a DLC of 5, than a separate game.
I just hope Rebellion can someday make a remake of the first one.

Only done the first level and yeah, feels like more of the same, smaller but deffo feels and looks the same. Even the skills are the same I think

Yeah everything is too similar, even the HUD and training area. It's definitely disappointing but I expected as much. Like I said before if this helps funding future entries then good. But Sniper Elite 6 better be different and better

They're all great until the realisation sinks in that all you've done is shot someone's bollocks off a 100 times.

When did platforming and shit become such a big part of this series? First mission is full of it, climbing vines and shimmying across ledges and shit. Hope it's toned down in later missions.

Did an infiltration and murdered both humans 🤭

Played through the first 2 missions. It's basically a Sniper Elite 5 expansion pack with a different character/story ... and I'm fine with that.

Some more. I really like this game's schtick, every level is a small sandbox. They just give you two objectives and let you loose in the world with a sniper rifle and some TNT.

Bad anti aliasing aside, the game world looks vibrant and nice.

This game feels really off and lacks the polish of SE5. There is a huge amount of jank like collision, sticky environments, the controls are really off in terms of aiming and acceleration too.

Getting in the way of what is a decent enough iteration on a solid formula

Really? Hmm.

My experience so far hasn't been any better or worse than SE5, to me it feels like a mission pack for SE5 with a different protagonist.

Played the first mission but not feeling it. The main character is a douchebag.

He looks like a chipmunk, with an annoying edgelord voice.

This supposedly started life as dlc for SE5, and it shows imo. Clearly all the money and manpower went into AtomFall.

Still its on Gamepass so its not like we just spent $60 on the game.
