Kikizo: And is Nintendo DS something that SNK is keen on?

Morishita: Yes, we are also interested in Nintendo DS, but at the moment, we first need to see what the response of the market is to it.

Remember this interview, where they announced that they were already aboard for PSP development, yet had to wait to see what the market response would be to the DS before committing to it?

Has anything come of it? Is SNK aboard for DS development? If not, why not?

just gimmie Samurai Spirits 1-4 4 kreissake

Drinky are you saying that a new SS game is in the works for the PSP?

SNK wants to develop on next gen systems but right now they are just porting to take advantage of online support in consoles.

they will touch the DS in the future... but as of now they are just porting their work from the neo and they probably are not meeting Nintendo's desire to use both screens (whats the point of a stylus in a metal slug or kof game?). Only new titles to come from SNK were KOF: MI and Metal Slud 3D (not including arcade titles)

next gen you will see some original projects from SNK on all systems... but as for now... port port port

I was hoping that maybe they'd be willing to port the Samurai Spirits RPG. I could see them adding on some kind of touch screen capability to that.

Sadly, I would rather have them on the PSP for so many technical reasons :| . That idea of porting ss rpg would be certainly interesting

I mostly play fighting games using the d-pad anyways, so that's not an issue for me.

As I heard the PSP analog sucks arse.

He was saying that the PS2 D-pad was better than the psp one.

It's inevitable really... I wouldn't be surprised to see GBA projects like SNK Vs Capcom or KOF Advance shifted over as we haven't seen anything from them yet. SVC would work especially well if it was Cardfighter's sequel.

I sorta wish they'd bump the Metal Slug 1 port up given GBA's not really capable of totally replicating the original. DS could easily handle it though.
