So could the new Destiny's Child song be any more terrible?

Chincy sounding production, frumpy beat that sounds like a fat ladies inner-thighs slurping together at 10x speed, weak ass nigh-indiscernable chorus, uninspired lyrics, etc etc. Video sucks platypus balls as well.

Weak sauce DC. I used to like you when you were the foursome riding Wyclef's coattails in "No No No". Now your schlock lacks distinguishment and hunger. Like TLC's last album. Makes me long for the days of 702 and Total..*sigh*

well not really...yet
Im glad im not yet at that stage in my life in which I ponder the quality of Destiny's Child new Single.

*scratches head*

Is that some kind of veiled Zeppelin dis, or are you positing that sampling such a legendary rock band in such a crappy song would raise it's suck-factor?

I would agree with you on the latter part, vis-a-vis Trick Daddy's "Let's Go" (although I fucking hate Ozzy).

You are however at a stage where you can GO FUCK YOURSELF. Local sodomy laws notwithstanding..

I liked "Lose my Breath". It has that Drumline flavor. My school band is rehearsing playing that for our upcoming games. That is going to be an amazing event for which I wish I could participate in. Our band is amazing.

The lyrics aren't memorable, but they're worth learning to sing to, and the beat is dance-alicious.

Although first time, I admit, I thought they were saying "Can Jews keep up" "help me pay my Rent"

Theugh they're no Total or En Vogue :rock

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
Yeah we were discussing this at work it's no surprise destiny's child fell off! Weak beats, no catchy hooks no nothing. Nothing at all like 'Crazy in love' feat. Jay-Z or their older material

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
Wow...I was actually thinking that too. I woke up to the song yesterday (radio alarm) and all I remember was that the chorus just kept on repeating. I was like "wtf? Stop saying the same shit!"

Holy shit, Flanders likes Total and 702!

SWV had some jams too. I liked the 90's R&B/pop stuff. Keith Sweat, En Vogue, Bel Biv Devoe, Xscape, New Edition, Johnny Gill, TLC (up to CrazySexyCool anyway), Groove Theory, Blackstreet, Jade, Montell Jordan etc etc.

Not to say I loved their entire catalogs, but they all had at least a song or two that I liked. Why would people think I don't like R&B? You can't listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ghostface Killah, Mogwai, AND a little 702? Why not? What kind of country is this? And more importantly, WHERE MY GIRLS AT?!?!? ;)

The two singles they have right now are better than the last few singles they have had, stuff like: "Independent Women", "Survivor" and "Bootylicious". I still don't like them though.

The songs I like from them are "No No No" (the remix i think?), "Say My Name", "Bugaboo", "Bills Bills Bills" and "Jumpin Jumpin".

"Lose My Breath" is really hot, I love it as much as "Jumpin' Jumpin'". "Soldier" is really good too.

Why all the hate? The beats aren't weak at all.

I at first thought "Lose My Breath" sounded terrible, but the song has grown on me for some odd reason. I like the beat on it the most, marching band like.

I like the drumbline in "lose my breath" like Vagabond mentioned.

I hate everything about that "soldier" song. From the beat, to the singing, to the lyrical content... just saw the video, and hate that too.

Eh, I can't think of a particularly memorable DC song, and I barely consider DC to be R&B in the first place (their music is intentionally way too pop; Beyonce's solo gig was more straight-up R&B). That said, Lose My Breath is catchy with the drumline (it sounds horrible in the club though), and it doesn't sound any worse (or any less feminist) than DC's past efforts.

Nothing Destiny's Child does can ever top "Bootylicious"

/wishes for an "I don't think you're ready for this jelly" tag

I also like the drumbline in "lose my breath", and I also think it's marketing genious, but not for being singing over hiphop beats, but for using a drum cadence which is sure to be played by the majority of high schools and college bands around the country.

I expect bands to be playing this for years to come, cudos to her for coming up with an idea for people to attach themselves to her song a bit more.

Personally I think it's every song other than this that she's ever released which is horrible.

LOL!

I also like Lose my Breath.. but really as others have said mostly for the drumline cadence used...

The drumline sounds like sporadic garbled flatulence to me, and as someone mentioned and perhaps most importantly, it doesn't work in the clubs, which is the litmus test for booty shakin jams today.

Tell that to Yung Wun - Pump it up

I sort of like that "Lose My Breath" song. And I like that Ciara song "Hotline." And I think quite a few tracks from that new Gwen Stefani album are fantastic.

OMG WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?

*listens to indie flavour of the week band to redeem self*
