So Fever Pitch is actually a good movie?

Ebert and Roeper seem to think so.

Not one negative comment.

The best movie they've ever seen about a fan's obsession. Both Fallon and Barrymore perfectly cast (Barrymore produced, btw). Both sides (fan nut job and the woman who loves him) equally well developed. The end reshot to fit the actual events of the 2004 season was well done...

I'm speechless.

... this is fucking retarded.

This is a remake of film based around TRUE FUCKING FOOTBALLING EVENTS....

it's what made the film so fucking great, seeing the gooner go through agony. And then "that" thing happening. Everyone football fan in the UK knows where they were and what they were doing at that point in time.

what the fuck ?!

edit : oh, i see this is based around the red sox series. Anyways, this is a remake of a film that is only 6 years old, for FUCKSAKE.

Cubicle - yes....

retarded isn't it?

now, what the fuck would they have done if the red sox hadn't have won the World series?? They say they were surprised? way to miss half the fucking point of the book! (apart from the attraction that every sports fan in the UK was rooted to the tv watching that game - which was, to put it bluntly, fucking amazing)

For what it is worth .. it was the only Hornby novel I couldn't get through. It bored me to tears.

High Fidelity was "americanized" also. I don't see what the big deal is.

Putting Fallon and Barrymore in the same movie can not be good. I don't care what material they have.

Jimmy Fallon should be dragged out into the street and beaten with sticks, then his twisted body should be thrown to wolverines. He is useless in the worst way.

the events of the football matches are all real and they all tie up into the relationship.

the fact that the staff on the film were surprised and happy that the Red sox won the major league makes me feel that ,like a Goodyear airship, one of the major parts of the film has went floating over their heads.

regardless of jimmy falon i have heard from quite a few people who were sure this would suck, that it's a pretty good movie and worth seeing

plus my girl wants too see it since it's a romantic comedy, and it has the red sox in it - so i don't mind seeing it ;)

Um, they actually had to rewrite the script when they did actually win the series in the middle of filming. Not that I am defending it or anything, because drew barrymore needs to stop making movies, and jimmy fallon isn't funny.

If I see anyone walk out of a theater seeing that movie, or talk about seeing it, I will immediately go Jack Bauer on their ass and stab them in the back of the neck.

I live in New York.

It's a damn tradgedy this movie was made. Jimmy Fallon, a frickin New Yorker who doesn't even like baseball, in a movie about Boston. And not only that, and this is the worst part, he graces Boston in their most glorious moment with his shitty acting and disgraces what was pure celebration by loyal fans. I know so many Boston fans who wanted to beat the shit out of him.

Nope, sadly I don't.

I'm just crazy, I guess..

His CD is pretty good.. he does a few amazing impersonations of some celebrities, like Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Nicolaus Cage, etc. Damn, he has them down pat. His actual standup is alright, nothing special. It's no Mitch Hedberg or anything like that.

Plus, I don't really see what people's problem with him is. Yes, he over-acts, but so do 90% of the comedy actors out there, and for me, he usually doesn't do it to the point where he's annoying. But everyone has their own taste, so... :lol
