So how are impressions on Coded Arms?

Anyone played it at E3? How are the controls? The random levels sound less inspiring (to me, making a random level generator is admitting that your level making skills are less than random) and the controls seem wonky. But I love FPS games and love my PSP...

Didn't seem like a good game to me. You can set the controls so that you move your aim with analog nub and move yourself using face buttons. That way the control is just fine. However, the game just seeemed really uninspired and boring looking. I only played two training levels so don't take this as a gospel or anything.

Yes, the game felt boring and uninspired. Controls can be adjusted to work well enough, but the actual game feels like...let's see...like Kileak the Blood for Playstation. Lonely, tedious, dead.

IAWtheseP -- bored me to tears at E3, wandering the same brown rooms and corridors. It's like they put the Rengoku team on an FPS. Enemies are cool, weapons are cool, but oh lord the visual tedium is physically palpable.

I enjoyed Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex in Bandai's booth more. Better level designs, better mission variety, and hey, a tachikoma tank buddy to do your dirty work.

Get used to the PSP FPS scheme of left analog to move, main buttons to aim, L to jump, R to shoot, and d-pad to swap weapons.

Yeah, I just can't see this game being any good at all. It looks so bland and boring. It was either this or Midnight Club, and judging from impressions thus far of the latter, Midnight Club seems to be the best choice. And for those who really want a decent FPS to go, Ghost in the Shell will satisfy (hopefully).
