Now it's more of a chore to play. The sessions are way too long and doing the same skins in the same order over and over gets old. I haven't finished a game of Lumines since I scored 166k.

I tried Lumines yesterday on a buddy's PSP and it's very addicting. I'm impressed quite alot by this game. I thought we were done with the Tetris style but it seems that there was room for another original and awesome game!

Lumines is the only PSP game I still play, but the lack of a shuffle mode is killing it for me. Like Oli, I just can't bring myself to play it much anymore. Fantastic game, otherwise.

Headphones into my fucking iPod, I play Lumines muted.

Wah, wah. You're still not playing right if sessions are too long. There's still a lot of room for improvement and if you're paying that much attention to the skins, you're paying too much attention to them rather than trying to play better at the game. It shouldn't be a chore to go through all the skins. You should be able to get to Lights in like 30 to 40 min.

I was under the impression that your time spent on each Skin was set by the length of the song, not how high your score became. Did I miss something?

When you want to try to get to 999,999 points, sleep mode is your friend. Just be sure to read the saving messages after your game is over

And Red Mercury, the skins transition depending on score/level. I can get through the Shining skin without the song going into 'night time', or when the melody changes. Which makes me sad cause I like that part....I have to force myself to play crappy just to hear it

That is indeed a travesty... I find that I don't normally have enough blocks to work with at that early of a level to advance quickly.. (although all the single color bonuses are nice.) As for the whole taking awhile for you to reach your old highscore..

I dunno.. I enjoy the music so half of my enjoyment comes from hearing the songs, while the other half comes from constantly trying to keep the board as clear as humanly possible. I kind of thought that was the point.
