It's been on HBO in the background as I surf, and from my occassional glance, the movie appears to be entirely composed of some creepy looking weirdo gawking at a girlish young man on the beach set to startlingly melodramatic orchestral music. Even in my brief glances I am paralyzed with boredom as my eyes touch the screen.
Given that I've heard reference to the movie as important cinema, I check the onscreen guide and its rated 4 out of 4 stars. Am I just being obtuse by judging the movie in snippets, or is it really as big a steamer as I suspected?
