I played 3 hours and while the game seems great i am baffled that obvious problems hasnt been patched yet.

My game got a fatal error 10 minutes into game. Checked google, hasnt been fixed yet.

Then 1 hour into the game my controls started to not work so i had to reset them in the menu. Hasnt been patched either apparently.

Lastly, i found out there is no manual save system lol. I have to rely on autosaves. What's going on with a game of this high status?

never heard of it

any good?

probably a problem on your end. plenty of people played it without issues.

I played on PlayStation but I never encountered a crash and was able to manually save. I assume you're on PC?

My only disappointment with the game was having to choose between 60 fps and absolutely horrible AI upscaling with white flickering visual noise just barfed all over the screen in some areas, and a 30 fps mode that looks a little bit better.

Other than that, great story, great writing, great gameplay, great music. Weird that almost all of Act 3 is optional and major plot points are missable if you don't explore everything.

Played on launch on PC and had 0 crashes or errors. Do you do stuff like undervolting your PC? Try limiting fps to 60 and using high settings.

Didn't have any issues or bugs on PC, and don't recall much talk if any about them. As for saves - I actually don't remember how it worked - I thought you saved at those flag things?

Another thread about Expedition 33, well, the evening won't be boring :messenger_tears_of_joy:

P.S - During the entire time I played the game, and there were 2 of them (the game has two endings), I didn't have a single crash.

One of the greatest games ever, just rest at a flag that's your save but it auto saves nonstop. Also not a single issue for me, platinumed it and loved every minute

Enjoy. Learn to Parry.
I, too just started the game. Only 3 hours in. No controller issues, but parrying is hard bowse. I'm so used to how parrying works in two other games I'm currently playing (ZZZ and Sea of Stars). Going to put this one down until I finish SoS. My brain can't take it.

I put 97 hours into this back in Jan and I only had 1 crash the whole time and I didn't lose progress. Do yourself a favor and don't read a single thing about it. I didn't quite 100% it but I did almost everything there was to do. Honestly the only reason I walked away is because I had to because if I stayed any longer it would have completely consumed my time and emotions. Is it a perfect RPG? No game is but is it the closest thing to perfection I've played? Absolutely.

Try playing it on Linux bub 😂

Hours of fiddling with the setting just to go back to High preset as a good enough.

What are your specs btw? (I am assuming you are on PC) Personally I don't remember having any crashes, but I do remember seeing a few people talk about it. As for the controller input issue, I genuinely haven't heard of that before so I can't help outside of suggesting using a third party app like DS4Windows or something. As for saves, it does have automatic saves, but anytime you use a flag it saves, like a bonfire in Dark Souls.

This mod helps with some annoyances too, it was a necessity when the game first came out, and not just for ultrawide users. Hope things settle down for you in your playthrough as it is a fantastic game.

This game autosaves every time you blink or if you glare at it long enough, I don't think manual saves are a problem here.

As for the other stuff, welcome to PC gaming in the year of our lord, 2025.

I hope you know you didn't have to play it twice to get both.

That's fine because it's not for you but for those who come after
It's not like I said I hate the game, I wouldn't put 100 hours in to a game I don't like.

But to me it's not "greatest game ever made" like most people here like to claim.

Post the Event Viewer logs from when the game crashes.

Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application Logs

That might help pinpoint the root cause of the crash, because the game itself doesn't just keep crashing. Something within your environment (could be graphics driver, undervolted CPU, et cetera). In the meantime, I would suggest trying the following in order:
  1. Verify game files (assuming you're playing through Steam).
  2. Use DDU to uninstall your graphics driver, then reinstall the latest graphics driver.
    • Before running DDU, download your latest graphics driver. Then follow these steps.
    • If you are using DDU in normal mode, do:
      1. Turn internet off.
      2. Clean
      3. Reboot
      4. Clean again
      5. Reboot again
      6. Install new driver.
      7. Turn internet back on.
  3. Disable all overclocking/underclocking (CPU, GPU, and RAM) to see if the issue persists.
The first one is the easiest one to do. The second one is more involved, but still easy. The last one is something nobody wants to deal with, so it's a last-ditch effort for that reason.

I'm not one of those players who fiddles with safe files (or watches YouTube videos). If I like a game, I have no problem playing it multiple times. I also played Cronos New Dawn twice, for example, because the main ending can only be seen on New Game Plus (technically, there are three endings, but that's a spoiler territory).

Fatal error? I played the game for 100 hours and didn't have a single crash. But i played on consoles so...i have no idea how the PC version is.
No crashes on the PC Gamepass version either just now. Finished it yesterday.

And there are manual saves, kinda, by going to flags.

All in all it's worth sticking to it for the story. But the gameplay ended up disappointing me. By the end it was all about timing parries and dodges, any depth from upgrade choices and elements and buffs was lost behind that.

Oh I get that. I replayed the whole game so I could platinum it because I missed 1 record at the start of the game, but the game doesn(or didn't) record which ones you already got in prior playthroughs, so I did it all just to be sure.

spoiler hereAlso, I was just pointing out that the only decision that affects the ending is the big one you make at the end of the game.

The combat design didn't really come together in my opinion. I also don't care about the story. I was let down for sure.
That's too bad. For the people who were able to enjoy it, it was the highlight of 2025 for sure.

I know. I think it is good that the game found its audience. I did enjoy most of the music and the grim atmosphere of the game. It is just not a game I personally enjoy playing or find it engaging.

Once I got enough abilities and found a way to break the combat system I lost all interest in the game. The added functions towards the end of act 2 or at the beginning of act 3 did nothing for me.

Also the way the ability points functioned the game encouraged to just focus on three characters and buff them up the most. I think it was a bad decision.
