$272.60 shipped, with a stylus 3-pack. It’s got a 624 MHz, 64 MB of ROM and RAM, and a cool cradle? Need opinions fast, expires at 12:00.

looks like a good deal to me, a PDA like can easily run over $400.

I am assuming it does have media playback ability? Get a nice SD card and load the puppy up with some mp3s.

Definitely! I've been looking to get it for about a month. (Just came out) It's great from everything I've heard. SD cards are really cheap these days anyways. 1gig for 100. There's actually a deal for a sandisk one for 70 for 1gig. Anyways... YES! I was about to buy one this morning because of this deal. (Missed last weeks deal) This is the fastest PDA currently out.

Are you going to be happy with this thing when a month from now, you can buy the VGA version? That's 4 times the pixels!
What VGA version? That soon for this price?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm splitting the cost with someone, so really I'm just paying $136.

My bud just got that one actually, he adores it. Of course it's his first PDA but it looks pretty useful. I think he's looking for Rise of Nations on it now haha.

How do you check e-mail through bluetooth? I thought that was only for printers and headsets?
It's for cell phones too. You use the cell phone to connect to the internet.

I gave up on PDAs a while back. They are all pretty good at this point though so its REALLY hard to go wrong. I would recommend buying from someone with a good warranty (that covers the screen) and has WiFi, Bluetooth, and an SDIO port (if possible).

Looks like the name might be "Treo Ace." I have a Treo 600 and love it; this newer version will have the stuff the previous model is missing, too, like a high resolution screen.

I use my treo 600 for storing numbers (since it's a phone, duh!), internet browsing, and a tiny bit of entertainment (Tetris, NES emulator [decent], Game Gear emulator [awesome], video playback, and MP3s [but I have no headphones, so I use them mainly as ringtones]), but for general messing around, It's all about this:

The Tapwave Zodiac has high quality sound, so it's my MP3 player. It's also got Kinoma support, so I can watch movies on it, and for gaming, welll, the Zodiac games seem to suck (I have Duke Nukem, which is meh, and Doom II, which is a great port but suffers from some control issues), but it's awesome for emulation. It suppports SCUMM (no sound right now), NES, Master System/Game Gear, GB/GBC, Atarti ST, and TG-16 emulators, and now, Little Jon Z has been released, so there's SNES, Genesis, Wonderswan Color, and Neo-Geo Pocket Color emulation as well. The Zodiac 2 is pricey though; cost me $400. And yeah, there are now deals to get 1gb SD cards for around $60-70; I wish I knew that before I blew $100+ on another 512mb card at rip-off Comp USA. ^_^;

Oh, and pretty much everyone falls for the "I got a PSP *NOW* LOOK!!!" line with this thing. Did Sony rip off the design? :)

Lyte, how's the action buttons on the Zodiac? The big black cross in the middle looks like it would prevent using them easily.

Despite the look, button performance is great and controlling games/emulators is not an issue when it comes to the buttons. There's also two L/R shoulder buttons on top of the unit that you can't see in pics, so everything works the way it should when playing SNES games, for example. The analog stick does cause some minor control issues when playing certain games though; I have a hard time blocking Piston Honda's super attacks in Punch-Out!! on the NES, for example, but most games work great.
