So the RSX for PS3, it's multi processor?

Thanks to ytsejammer39 at IGN for making me aware of this.

This news is as old as the E3 presentation for PS3 but this may have slipped past most folks.
PS3Forum just rediscovered something from the presentation.

That the RSX will have programmable shading processors instead of pipelines.

OMG!!! Quickly goto Beyond3D and show them this amazing bit of news!!! Processors instread of piplines...holy shit!!!! RSX is the new Cell <----------make that your thread title so I can follow along.

Programmable shaders have been standard since DX7, right? They are sometimes still called pipelines because you have a bunch of units in row (vertex cache -> vertex shader -> pixel shader). With SM3.0 they do have a bunch of features that makes them more like processors instead of DSPs or whatever. So I guess the answer is 'yes'.
