Party Pooper
the homepage is still being updated, not that i can read japanese or anything, but next update is 10/21

next game due out from Irem is Blocks Club with Bumpy Trot on 11/17. DR2 was supposed to be 2005, i wonder if it will still make it.

on a different Irem note, anyone know where i can buy Sakurasaka Shouboutai outside of NCSX? they seem to be the only ones selling it...

edit: how the hell did i miss Irem putting up an english verison of the Bumpy Trot site?

From the English Bumpy Trot page:

From reasons written below, this game is targeted for ages above 12 years old.
Violence
At one part there is an extremely violent scene.
Crime
You can steal some potatoes at a farmhouse.
In some cases, you might have to beat/defeat some police vehicles

Hopefully they're spending this insane amount of time cleaning up the frame rate or something. SOS The Final Escape (PAL name :() is one of my favorite PS2 games, but holy crap, it was like a stop animation at times.

This game had one of the coolest ideas in gaming I had seen in quite some, but I hear that they did a pretty shoddy job. Here is to hoping this game turns out to be GTA meets "The Perfect Storm".

Yeah I agree that the game had a very unique premise but the sluggish controls can be reeeeeally irritating and as someone mentioned before the framerate is pretty horrible. Hopefully they fix these problems. Oh and if anyone is interested in getting the first game, it can still be picked up at Gamestops for $10.

First they delayed the game because of the massive Tunami hit Southeast Asia last december.
Some people concerned that they might delay or even cancel because of Katrina.
It seems like it's coming after all.

I really liked the first one's premise and promise. If it just had decent controls it would've been a solid title.

I got a playable demo of this at a Japanese game store back in May or something

...still haven't opened it :(

Bebpo you got a demo of Disaster Report 2? Open it! Put us out of our misery and at least tell us if it seems as fun as Disaster Report was.

eh, maybe tomorrow. Not really motivated to run through flooding water at the moment.

an update i missed on ign (because i don't like ign)

October 21, 2005 - Following a playable demo at last year's Tokyo Game Show, Irem's Disaster Report 2 (Zettai Zetsumei Toushi 2 in Japan) seemed to drop off the radar. Worry not, fans -- the game is still on the way. In addition to resurfacing through a two page spread in the latest issue of Famitsu, Irem has announced that it will show the game at Games Japan Festa 2005, scheduled for November in Osaka.

There's some sad news to report, though. While Disaster Report 2 was originally scheduled for Japanese release this year, the Games Japan Festa 2005 exhibition list indicates that the game is now set for February of 2006. That should get us some quality hands on time with Irem's ambitious disaster title before the next generation begins.

also, Atlus supposedly bringing over Bumpy Trot in May (if EB is to be believed)
