I've been looking around everywhere and I can't find anything about a potential American release for this, so I was thinking someone here must have heard something about it.

I really don't want it to end up like Ape Escape 2 or worse, not even come here at all. :\

EB.com had a listing for it in early 2006.. but for the PSP. Now it's gone. So I guess it was a mistake. So is there any word on a release in America?

I don't get it. Why would Sony bring over an ehhh port of the original for PSP but ignore this?

I think odds are pretty good, despite everyone being mum on the subject. Probably Ubisoft (I mean for god's sakes, they brought out Pumped & Primed here). But even if they skip over it, next year will probably be somewhat light on PS2 releases as everyone gears up for next gen, so I'd wager someone will put it out, if only to pad their lineup.
