She has the Cooking Mama box right by her in the CM review, and the "huge" cart is a regular GB cart, isn't it? The Lite is smaller, remember?

Edit: Also, apparently one of the sideprojects I'm half-involved in is hosting GameLife episodes. That's kinda funny. :D
Guys, he's one of them

I call out "assbag," and they come running.

i feel comfortable saying that i think its embarassing that someone would release something like that and have it associated with themselves. Geoff is the only reasonably decent part of the show. i dont think that makes me an assbag.

As I said a few pages ago (before the utterly disturbing images that my 4 year old almost saw), something fishy is going on with these kids and I would highly recommend backing away.

Maybe these disturbing photos are like the severed ear from Blue Velvet, and we're all about to be dragged down into the dark underworld of GameLife.

a person in the zd media booth, whom I will not name due to his request for me not to, was around when the 1up show was going to interview gamelife

the whole gang broke kayfabe, acting normally.

y'all are marks, folkds.

you mean LA?

It's just getting weirder and weider. Geof went from being cool to being a furry, and now those pics are getting even more weird

WTF :lol
Whatever this whole thing turns out to be, it's entertaining at least :D.

I mean they're genuine nerds and I love it. You see it in their show and even in their pictures.

I'm not even making fun, because I love nerdy people, especially compared to the recent "geek is chic" (God, I hate that word) trend.

GAMELIFE 4 LIFE.

Someone's been watching too much wrestling lately. :)

What kind of people would love to make video games look bad by linking the industry to a bunch of "special" kids who are traveling around with a guy and a girl who are seen in ultraviolent images, porn images, and pictues of kids looking like they are on drugs? There are special interest groups who have had very little traction in getting games banned, but bad PR through the media can do the trick. I'm telling you all, journalists, developers, and gamers, to back away from all of this. I am not kidding.

Nobody is trying to make games look bad. I think if anything, this Melissa girl and that older lad, both of whom have played and are likely trying to make their fortune in "fringe art," viewed the first episode, saw potential internet meme material, and set phazers to exploit.

That's my 30 second synopsis.

Picture GameLife getting traction in the national media and someone like Nancy Grace decides to go to the websites. She sees these pictures, and suddenly gamers are associated with a bouquet of disturbing images. Don't give the haters ammunition.

I think exactly the same.

These guys are fucking geniuses.... this is like the ultimate viral marketing campaign I've ever seen. It wouldn't surprise me if they are lurking on this thread and laughing at all of us falling for this scheme of theirs. The popularity of their show has exploded, that speaks volumes about this whole ordeal. Oh and it also wouldn't suprise me if someone on the inside is posting these links for us to visit with weird shit (which as someone noticed) is getting wierder and wierder to draw us even further down the rabbit hole.

Fucking geniuses I tell you.

Someone should post these photos on their forum, I bet the Melissa fans would "love it". :lol

I have to admit, the pictures of her being impaled through the neck by a picket fence did turn me on a little bit.

That's a bit more calculated than the more simple, and likely, scenario that I outlined. And as has been pointed out. . .what the hell would be the motive for making gamers look bad? Occam's razor -- they're in it for the money; whoever "they" are.

There are people out there who are crazier than Jack Thompson that would LOVE to link video games with a scandal of some sort. Blair Witch Project or not, you have been warned.

That's a little paranoid, even for my blood. Did you see the pictures the Older Guy has taken? He's not on some moral crusade. He's looking to make money in shock art, and he's found a more profitable venue than the folks that look at chicks impaled on fences.

You're almost entirely on the money. I'm sure what happened was that they both laughed at the first episode and joked about how funny it would be if they sent a game review in. She sent in her review, and since then the entire thing blew up. I doubt they had any idea it would get this big, and are most likely as surprised as anyone else is about it.

As for the pictures, big deal. It doesn't make them "creepy" because the guy likes to take photographs of horror movie setups. They probably just think it's "cool" and "edgy", even though it comes off as trying too hard. Are people who make horror movies all potential axe-wielding lunatics?

EDIT: After looking at his myspace page, the guy lives in LA. Maybe it's his job to do horror makeup or it's his portfolio.

I'm curious, who coined that "creatively bankrupt" phrase (it was gaming related). I first saw it on here, but since then it's been used a lot. That's a curious name for a website of that nature. Meh, I'm probably just reading too much into that.

No, no, the proper reaction to those pictures is to flail your arms around like a hysterical old woman.
