eh, Great Adventure is much closer to me, but if I make it to any park this summer I'd like it to be Cedar Point. I always seem to have a much better time there than at Six Flags, even though they both have some great rides.

Blasts from the pasts:

Rolling Thunder

-Was built in 1978
-They haven't replaced one part on the tracks or trains and it shows. You see/feel/hear every rickedty part of this ride, believe you'll die and enjoy every minute of this death trap. They keep this ride just to scare the shit out of you. It's great.

From the fact sheet:
TYPE OF COASTER: Hydraulic launch coaster
MAXIMUM HEIGHT: 456 feet
MAXIMUM SPEED: 128 mph
STACKING UP TO Nitro: 230 feet, 80 mph
ITS SIBLINGS: Great American Scream Machine: 173 feet, 68 mph
Medusa: 143 feet, 55 mph
RIDE FEATURES: A hydraulic launch rockets riders horizontally from 0 to 128 mph in 3.5
seconds, then vertically 90 degrees into a quarter turn. Riders crest the
coaster’s tower an exhilarating 458 feet from the ground, then plunge
vertically into a 270-degree (three-quarter) spiral.
The train will swoop down a valley and climb a 129-foot second hill,
leaving guests feeling weightless before making a left turn back into the
station.

rolling thunder is fuckin awesome, been on the one in jersey so many times...

though the only coaster to ever scare the crap out of me is located down on the jersey shore at Seaside Heights Casino Pier. it's called Star Jet. it's a rather dinky coaster when you first look at it, but here's the thing. no doors on the sides. here's the other thing. it goes OVER THE OCEAN. i've never been more scared about falling out of a coaster... good times :D
