So, will AOL Instant Messenger really work between PSP, Dreamcast, DS, PS3, PC, etc?

once AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) comes out for PSP and DS, and assuming it works on PS3 as well, be it regular AIM or Java-based AIM Express, will we really be able to communicate from Dreamcast to DS, or PSP to DS or PS3 to WebTV, etc ?

WebTV and Dreamcast (and other systems) can use AIM using AIMIRC, which is AIM over Internet Relay Chat (IRC). my PC can IM my Dreamcast an vice versa. I guess PS2 can do it too, if using the Linux Kit and AIM, AIM Express or AIMIRC.

also, if Xbox360 can use MSN later, then Xbox360 could MSN DS or PSP also.

If a system can access/communicate with the AIM network then it can communicate with any other system on that network.

In other words, if it's just standard AIM: yes.

A DS based AIM client would be a killer app. Fuck Ping Pals, they could probably charge decnt money for DS AIM.
