Shadowplay 'Instant Replay' is frustrating...

The feature keeps turning off, whether I have desktop capture enabled or disabled.

I was just playing Battlefield and a message appeared stating "Shadowplay Instant Replay has been disabled due to Battlefield"... HUH? The whole reason I want to use it is to capture game footage...

That's frustrating. If you can get whatever version of Battlefield to launch through Steam and have the overlay, you could try Steam Game Recording to do the same thing.

Just click the checkbox for enabling GPU hardware encoding, and it will use the encoder on your GPU to do the heavy lifting having little to no performance impact like Shadowplay.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks

didnt work :(

It is probably the anti cheat method Battlefield uses. It is usual an issue with those short of games. OBS should work fine if you want to just record some of your matches.

It is. On multiple Battlefield support threads people are reporting it's not possible to use screen capture programs.

We'll see what happens when the real release happens, but some supposedly running something like OBS as admin can sometimes work around the issue.

That's the anticheat at work.
I'm fine with recording not working out of the box if it means it culls off a percentage of potential cheaters.

there's no fully reliable way for quick captures on PC sadly. all of them have issues.

the Xbox game bar capture is reliable in terms of, it will not just turn off or anything, but I have had multiple games where the capture is just a black screen with sound, or normal video with mangled sound etc.

I didn't think of trying the xbox game bar. I'll give that a shot

it's more about capturing an 'in the moment' thing where it an capture the last 30 seconds etc

love how it only takes two button presses on my ps5 to save my gameplay. Never ran into a single problem since I bought it in 2020. on PC its always clunky AF to do anything.
