As promised earlier, I picked it up during lunch and am listening to it now.

"You'll Have Time" is one of the funniest songs I've ever heard.
"It Hasn't Happened Yet" is one of the saddest.
"I Can't Get Behind That" is one of the baddest.

Funny - I came into it without any serious intent and I'm actually enjoying it a lot.

Yeah, got it. Favorite song is Real probably because I like country and Paisley, though. Common People is great. Has Been had me laughing all through class and people were staring.

I walked into Future Shop and spotted an incredibly cute goth chick working in the CD department. Marched right up and asked her for it. She started laughing, asking if I was serious, and when I told her about Ben Folds, Henry Rollins and Aimee Mann being involved in the project, you could see her eyes light up. Walked me over to the computer, found that it was in stock, then walked me to the rack so she could grab a copy for herself as well for later. All the while I was thinking, "I want to lick that stud protruding out from underneath your lip something FIERCE".

So Shatner owes me for pimping another copy of his CD.
 
This cd rules! Common People is an amazing song IMO! And Thats me Trying rules as well! It hasnt happened yet is depressing but awesome as well. "What Have We Done" is very hard to listen to about him finding his dead wife in the pool. Talk about depressing. The whole album rocks though.
 
WAIT .... you guys are really buying a Shatner CD? Has hell frozen over?
 
"That's Me Trying" is on repeat in my Winamp. I love it. I'm pretty sure it's probably mostly Ben Folds and Aimee Mann's chorus... but it just works perfectly in this song.
 
Okay, question for those who own it: are the interview sections (as heard on the website) on seperate tracks from the music, or not?
 
I picked this up so I would have something to listen to on the drive home for the weekend, and I'm actually surprised that I ended up liking it. "I Can't Get Behind That" and "Common People" are just great, and I like "Real" quite a bit too.

I don't think they are on the CD at all. I least I didn't hear them on my way home and I listened to all of the tracks.
 
Awesome CD.

I was expecting to be surprised by the quality...so I didn't think I'd be surprised when it turned out well. Despite my efforts, I still found myself impressed with how good it is.
