Socom 3 screens

I'm looking forward to SOCOM 3, and I enjoyed SOCOM 2 online, but I have to admit, I'm a little scared about the use of vehicles. Not only am I scared about it hurting the gameplay, I don't want it to become too much like Battlefield.

In Socom 3 you can create a match without vehicles if you want or no mines and etc.
 
Man, everyone I talk to on SOCOM II feels the same way - that vehicles are going to ruin this game.

I really don't think so at all. In fact, I'll wager that vehicles will become immensely popular and give the true feeling of an all-out war.

The cut that I'm glad Zipper made was to not include aircraft. I'm glad they are sticking with airstrikes instead because it ruins the feeling of a game based on squad-based infantry units.

Have faith guys, the vehicles won't be able to go everywhere and Zipper is one of the best level designers in the business.

Even though the graphics don't look that great, they are leaps and bounds above SOCOM II.

That's what I mean...I get my all out war feeling from Battlefield. SOCOM II has a definite feel and direction that I enjoy, and I don't want vehicles to ruin that.
 
Vehicles will make the game better. a jeep with 3 guys firing in all directions? fucking sold

even if you dont want them, you can turn them off and the maps will even scale back to balance out the game (i think)

I'd imagine that tanks will be REALLY slow in this game and they will have larger radius airstrikes to make up for it.

That way if a tank batallion advances on your position you could call and airstrike and nail it before it gets close to you.

I would also conclude that the tanks are going to be the bane of anyone near them but they'll have some sort of weakness (eg: C4 you can plant on them?)
 
i dont know if you guys have read the beta manual yet, but one of the new gameplay modes is convoy...basically 1 team has a package they have to carry via a vehicle while the other team has to make sure that package doesnt get to its destination. could be fun
 
I hope all you beta-testers find all the exploits and glitches in the game. Socom III is gonna own. Fuck the haters!
