A few years back, Cnet (or somebody) had an online update utility. You ran it and it would give you a list of all the software on your PC with known updates; you could then install the updates... are there any programs like this today? It was handy when you had lots of dinky little third party programs and had no idea if any of them had been updated.

Yeah, i remember the CNet utility. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but my mantra now is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Mass updating apps can lead to compatibility issues, especially when it comes to codecs and programs that interoperate intimately with other programs.
