I've seen couple episodes, but it really got boring. It's just too serious. Oh well, all the mech animes that I've seen were boring, guess they aren't for me.

It's true that Fafner's art style is nice and it has some nice animation, but that's not the point it doesn't make it good at all.

Serious? Most times. Boring? Never

Besides the nice art, the plot and characters (some of the scenes are just so >_< ) are very good and the soundtrack is excellent

I have to agree, the soundtrack is best about this anime. The opening is just great, forgot that completely.

The only people I can see liking Fafner are those that actually like Argent Soma too. That was another huge piece of crap I was fooled into watching. Man. Boring, boring, boring. Takes itself too seriously when it's just NOT remotely as intelligent, emotional or intriguing as the writers think it is. The alien design is really bland, the mecha itself is.... okay I guess, nothing to write home about. I'm just sick of these "Look at me, I'm so prolific!" anime styles because it's obviously the writers think they're smarter than they really are and most people just don't end up impressed at all.

I don't really care about that kind of stuff. Give me a decent plot and lots of character development and I'm good

PS: I guess I'll check out Argento Soma now although from the previews I've seen, it looked dumb

Argent Soma was great

I'll make sure to get the Sokyu No Fafner DVDs when they come out.

Oh man, Argento Soma was some awful, awful, awful crap.

Fafner was alright. It had an amazing score, good directing, and a large cast that was developed.

But it also had a terrible story, the mecha were beyond horrid, and you didn't care one way or the other by the end because the story was just dumb and

everyone likeable was dead

So Fafner isn't really worth watching, but it's not really bad either. It's just kinda unbalanced with it's pros and cons.

But ummm, no it's not better than RX or Eva unless you are fucking crazy
